AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the29th day of July, 2002, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #273/02: It being nine a.m., JUDGE BURROWS
called the meeting to order and waived the presentation of the
Minutes of July 23, 2002, at the present time.
Agenda #2a - Bids for Hot Mix Overlay for Moffat
and Cedar Ridge Park Roads
- MINUTE ORDER #274/02: The County Engineer
presented the matter of awarding the bid for the hot mix overlay of
portions of Moffat Road and Cedar Ridge Park Road and recommended the
awarding of such bid to Woodard Construction Company of Gatesville in the
amount of $13,860.00. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved the awarding of such low bid as recommended by the
County Engineer.
Agenda #2b - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #275/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously approved
all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made
a part of these minutes.
Agenda #3 - Bids on Purchase of Computers
- MINUTE ORDER #276/02: The matter of awarding bids
for the purchase of several computers was discussed. Temple
Electronics submitted a bid of $30,430.00 which was within the 5% local
preference. The actual low bid was from out of state and no readily
available for service and warranty work. Based on these factors and
after due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved
the awarding of such bid to Temple Electronics, in the amount of
$30,430.00.
Agenda #4 - Award for Gerald "Skid"
Skidmore
- MINUTE ORDER #277/02: JUDGE BURROWS recognized
Gerald "Skid" Skidmore of Killeen (retired
Executive Director of the Killeen Daily Herald and current Chamber of
Commerce Community Liaison and consultant for the City of Killeen) for his
selection as 2002 Experienced Worker of the Year by Central Texas
Workforce Board.
Agenda #5 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #278/02: The County Auditor
presented all claims for the review of the Court. After proper
review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded
by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all
such claims. All according to a copy of the same being of record in
the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on their
workshop agenda
with no action being taken on any matter.)
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
