Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #431/02: It being nine a.m., JUDGE BURROWS
called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the
fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes of October
28 and November 4, 2002. He asked if there were any corrections
or additions to the minutes; there being none, the minutes were approved
as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Bell-Lanford Addition Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #432/02: Upon the recommendation
of the County Engineer's Office, on motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved the final plat for the Bell-Lanford Addition
Subdivision and ordered the same filed for record.
Agenda #2b - Bids for Aggregate
- MINUTE ORDER #433/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously
approved authorizing the County Engineer to advertise for bids for cover
aggregate for the seal coat program.
Agenda #2c - Mill Creek Springs, Phase III
Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #434/02: Upon recommendation of the
County Engineer's Office, on motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded
by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved the
final plat of Mill Creek Springs Phase III Subdivision and ordered the
same filed for record.
Agenda #2d - Cedar Oaks Estates, Phase I,
Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #435/02: Upon the recommendation of the
County Engineer's Office, on motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded
by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously approved
the final plat of Cedar Oaks Estates, Phase I, Subdivision and ordered the
same filed for record.
Agenda #2e - Exception to Platting Requirement in
Seven Coves Addition, Tract #5
- MINUTE ORDER #436/02: The matter of granting an
exception to the platting requirements by Jerry Rape from Rick Scott in
Seven Coves Addition, Tract #5 was discussed and after due discussion,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved such exception, all
according to a copy of the same attached hereto and made a part of these
minutes for all purposes.
Agenda #2f - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #437/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
STEPHENSON, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, including the
employment of STEVEN CASEY, as the County's new Fire
Marshal/Emergency Management Officers. All according to a copy of
such forms attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #6 - New Jury Fees
- MINUTE ORDER #438/02: JUDGE BURROWS explained
to the Court that the Attorney General had written an opinion that
County's may not pay their jurors less money than members of the Grand
Jury for services on either panel. Thereafter, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded
by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, effective this date that all
members of a petit jury reporting for jury duty and not serving on the
jury will receive $6.00 per day and those chosen for jury service will
receive $10.00 per day.
Agenda #7 - Ratification of Purchase of Lewellen
Property
- MINUTE ORDER #439/02: JUDGE BURROWS presented
the matter of the bid submitted by him at the foreclosure sale on November
5, 2002. Property that had been assigned to Bell County for the
benefit of Charles Harris' bailbond company had to be foreclosed on due to
non-payment of some $37,000 in judgment nisis. He reported that he
had bid on behalf of Bell County the amount of $41,000.00, which was the
highest bid, therefore, Bell County had acquired the property which is to
be remodeled for use as a record storage facility for the County and
District Clerk's Offices. Thereafter, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
STEPHENSON, seconded
by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved and
ratified the purchase of such real estate at 120 Penelope, Belton, Texas,
known as the Lewellen Property.
Agenda #8 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #440/02: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into
Workshop session to discuss
those items of business on their workshop
agenda with no action being taken on
such items and with all members aforementioned back in
open Court, including
Commissioner Brown, the Court reconvened its meeting and the following
transpired.)
Agenda #4 - Canvass of General Election Results
for the November 5, 2002, Election
- MINUTE ORDER #441/02: County Clerk Vada Sutton
presented her tabulation of the votes cast at the November 5, 2002,
General Election for review by the Court and after due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded
by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved
such tabulation and ordered the same filed for record.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
