DECEMBER 16, 2002
AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 16th day of December, A.D. 2002, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #477/02: It being nine a.m., JUDGE BURROWS
called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the
fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes of December
11, 2002. He asked if there were any corrections or additions to
the minutes; there being none, the minutes were approved as
submitted.
Agenda #2a - Public Hearing for Installation of
Stop Sign
- MINUTE ORDER #478/02: JUDGE BURROWS opened
the public hearing on the installation of a stop sign on George Wilson
Road at Dog Ridge Road. He asked if there were any public comments;
there being none, the public hearing was closed. Thereafter, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN,
seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously
approved such installation.
Agenda #2b - Brock Addition Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #479/02: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the final plat for the Brock Addition Subdivision and
recommended its approval. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN,
seconded by COMMISSIONER STEPHENSON, the Court unanimously
approved the final plat for the Brock Addition Subdivision and ordered the
same filed for record.
Agenda #2c - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #480/02: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
STEPHENSON,
seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously
approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto
and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #3 - Authorize Re-Bidding for Certain
Vehicles
- MINUTE ORDER #481/02: Mr. Russell Williams,
Assistant County Auditor, presented the matter of authorizing the County
Auditor to re-bid for certain vehicles and the rejection of prior
bids. Mr. Williams reported tot he Court that John McClaren
Chevrolet, the successful bidder for police vehicles had called to report
that they had made an error in their bid and therefore, they were
withdrawing the same. Mr. Williams recommended to the Court that all
bids for police vehicles be rejected and the re-bidding process
started. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the
Court unanimously rejected all such previous bids for police vehicles and
authorized the County Auditor to re-bid for the police vehicles.
Agenda #4 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #482/02: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session
to discuss
those items on the workshop agenda with
no
action being taken on the same. The Court then met at 11:30 a.m. in the
Belton North Annex
with the Texas
Cooperative Extension staff to hear the annual update of their activities and
partake
of a Christmas luncheon
provided by them. The Court then met at 1:30 p.m. in the
Conference
room with the Board of
Directors of the Clearwater Underground Water Conservation District with
no action being taken on any
matter.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
