met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #149/03: It being nine a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and waived presentation of the
minutes of April 7, 2003, at the present time.
Agenda #2a - Awarding bids for Liquid Asphalt
Products
- MINUTE ORDER #150/03: County Engineer, Richard
Macchi, presented his report concerning the awarding of bids for liquid
asphalt products, a copy of the same being attached hereto and made the
recommendation that Cleveland Asphalt be given such contract. After
due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the
Court unanimously approved such recommendation.
Agenda #2b - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #151/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN,
seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously
approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto
and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #3 - Awards to Communications Center
Employees
- MINUTE ORDER #152/03: Mr. Tim Leverenz,
Director of the Bell County Communications Center, made presentations as
part of the National Public Safety Telecommunications Week to three
employees: Steve Ganley, received the Dispatcher of the Year
Award; Tonsa Edwards received the Senior Dispatcher of the Year
Award and Stacy Ingram was named Supervisor of the year.
Agenda #4 - AUSA Report
- MINUTE ORDER #153/03: Mr. Ralph Gauer, AUSA
President, gave a report to the Court concerning support activities and
programs for Fort Hood and the Fort Hood Communities.
Agenda #5 - TxDOT Resolution
- MINUTE ORDER #154/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved a resolution in support of a joint petition to the
Texas Transportation Commissioner on behalf of the Killeen-Temple Urban
Transportation Study (K-TUTS) and the Waco Urban Transportation
Study. All according to a copy of the same attached hereto and made
a part of these minutes.
Agenda #6 - Resolution for Fair Housing Month in
Bell County
- MINUTE ORDER #155/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously approved a resolution declaring the month of April 2003 as
Fair Housing Month in Bell County. All according to a copy of the
same attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #7 - Authorize bids for Internet Service
- MINUTE ORDER #156/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously authorized the County Auditor to advertise for proposals to
furnish Internet Service.
Agenda #8 - Bids to Forklift for Building and
Grounds
- MINUTE ORDER #157/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously authorized the County Auditor to advertise for bids for a
forklift for the Building and Grounds.
Agenda #9 - Resolution concerning HJR 91
- MINUTE ORDER #158/03: JUDGE BURROWS presented
the matter of a resolution in support of HJR 91 which prohibits the
passage of unfunded mandates onto counties from the State
Legislature. After due discussion, upon motion of JUDGE
BURROWS, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved such resolution, the same being attached hereto and
made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #10 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #159/03: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. Upon motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same on record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session
to discuss
those items on the workshop agenda with
no
action being taken on the same.)
There being no further business, the meeting
was adjourned.
