Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #162/03: It being nine a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Court
attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes
of April 7 and April 14, 2003. He asked if there were any
corrections or additions, there being no corrections, the minutes were
approved as submitted.
Agenda #2 - Proclamation for Jim Cowan, TxDOT Area
Engineer
- MINUTE ORDER #163/03: Mr. Jay Brown, Representing
Senator Troy Fraser presented Senate Resolution #485 in Memory of the late
James W. Cowan II, who was the Texas Department of Transportation's Area
Engineer. All according to a copy of the same attached hereto and
made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #3a - New Maxdale Bridge
- MINUTE ORDER #164/03: The County Engineer presented
the matter of requesting the Texas Department of Transportation to extend
the limits of FM 2670 to include the new bridge (commonly referred to as
the "New Maxdale Bridge") over the Lampasas River in Southwest
Bell County. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved authorizing the County Judge to make such request of
the Texas Department of Transportation to extend the limits of FM 2670 to
include the new bridge over the Lampasas River.
Agenda #3b - Interlocal Agreement with Village of
Salado for Seal Coating
- MINUTE ORDER #165/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously approved an interlocal agreement with The Village of Salado
for the seal coating of approximately 2.0 miles of Village roads.
Agenda #3c - The Woods of Salado Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #166/03: The County Engineer presented
the matter of final approval of Lots 26-1 and 27-1, Block One, The Woods
of Salado Subdivision being an amended plat of Lots 26-A, 26-B, and 27-A,
Block One, The Woods of Salado Subdivision. After due discussion,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved such recommendation and
ordered the plat filed for record.
Agenda #4 - Kohutek Engineering & Testing
Employment
- MINUTE ORDER #167/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously approved an employment agreement with Kohutek Engineering
& Testing for engineering services to evaluate the two columns at the
Bell County Law Enforcement Center located in Nolan Creek, at a cost of
$2,350.00.
Agenda #5 - FEMA Grant Application
- MINUTE ORDER #168/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved the submission of a grant application to the Federal
Emergency Management Agency for funding to support the formation of
Citizen Corps Councils and Community Emergency Response Teams to community
preparedness and family safety and engage citizens in homeland security.
Agenda #6 - Integrated Justice Information System
Project
- MINUTE ORDER #169/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved the execution by JUDGE BURROWS, on
behalf of Bell County an Interlocal Agreement for participation in the
Integrated Justice Information System Project with the Conference of Urban
Counties and other participating counties.
Agenda #7 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #170/03: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. Upon motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same on record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session
to discuss
those items on the workshop agenda with
no
action being taken on the same.)
There being no further business, the meeting
was adjourned.
