AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 28th day of April, A.D. 2003, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #171/03: It being nine a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Court
attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes
of April 21, 2003. He asked if there were any
corrections or additions to the minutes; there being none, the minutes were
approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Public Hearing for Installation of
Traffic Control Devices
- MINUTE ORDER #172/03: JUDGE BURROWS opened
a public hearing for the purpose of considering the following traffic
control devices, to-wit: 1) Install a 40 MPH speed limit on Camp
Creek Road, from Centex Loop to FM 3369; 2) Change the speed limit
on Fox Trail, Sherwood Shores 6, from 30 MPH to 20 MPH; 3) Install
the following speed limits on Firefly Road - a) From Stillman Valley to
0.4 miles south - 50 mph; b) From 0.4 miles south of Stillman Valley to
2.3 miles south - 40 mph; c) From 2.3 miles couth of Stillman Valley to
Williamson County Line - 50 mph. He asked if there were any public
comments; there being none, the public hearing was closed and the
following transpired. Upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded
by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved the
installation of the above traffic control devices.
Agenda #2b - Release of Cashier's Checks
- MINUTE ORDER #173/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously agreed to release the following cashier's checks used as
security for the maintenance of various road, to-wit: Check #143392,
Heights State Bank, in the amount of $1,173.75 for the roads in Satch
Addition; Check # 37508, First Texas Bank, Belton, in the amount of
$2,600.00 for the roads in Gutierrez Addition.
Agenda #2c - Final Plat for Mill Creek Village
- MINUTE ORDER #174/03: The County Engineer
presented the final plat for Mill Creek Village Subdivision and
recommended its approval. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved the above referred to subdivision and ordered the
same filed for record.
Agenda #2d - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #175/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report
forms, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #3 - Bell County Child Welfare Board
Appointments
- MINUTE ORDER #176/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved appointing the following individuals as members of
the Bell County Child Welfare Board, to-wit: Linda Kieff of Harker
Heights; Michele Perkins of Temple; and Gladys Swindle of Killeen.
Agenda #4 - Addendum to Contract with Texas
Agriculture Extension Service
- MINUTE ORDER #177/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously approved authorizing JUDGE BURROWS to execute an
addendum to an existing contract with the Texas Agriculture Extension
Services to extend wireless services with such funds coming to Bell County
from TAS and being transmitted to the Texas Agriculture Extension Services
for such services.
Agenda #5 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #178/03: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session
to discuss
those items on the workshop agenda with
no
action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
was adjourned.
