IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF

BELL COUNTY, TEXAS


MAY 19, 2003


AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 19th day of May, A.D. 2003, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular special session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #208/03:  It being nine a.m., JUDGE BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes of May 5 and May 12, 2003.  He asked if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes; there being none, the minutes were approved as submitted.     



  2. Agenda #2a - McNeil Subdivision

    • MINUTE ORDER #209/03:  JUDGE BURROWS presented the matter of approval of the final plat for McNeil Subdivision and after due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved the such Subdivision and ordered the same filed for record.  



  3. Agenda #2b - Fencing Bids

    • MINUTE ORDER #210/03:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved authorizing the County Engineer to advertise for bids for the fencing of right of way on Darrs Creek and Willow Grove Roads.   



  4. Agenda #3 - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #211/03:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms; the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.  



  5. Agenda #4 - Resolution Concerning Heart of Texas Defense Alliance

    • MINUTE ORDER #212/03:  JUDGE BURROWS presented the matter of a resolution concerning the Heart of Texas Defense Alliance and after due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved such resolution, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.  



  6. Agenda #5 - Equal Employment Opportunity Plan

    • MINUTE ORDER #213/03:   The matter of approval of the Bell County 2003-2005 Equal Employment Opportunity Plan was tabled pending further study.   



  7. Agenda #6 - Bell County Historical Commission

    • MINUTE ORDER #214/03:  The matter of recognizing the Bell County Historical Commission for receiving a Distinguished Service Award for 2002 from the Texas Historical Commission was tabled pending their being able to attend Commissioners Court. 
          


  8. Agenda #7 - Federal Emergency Management Grant

    • MINUTE ORDER #215/03:  Mr. Steve Casey, Fire Marshal, appeared before the Court to present the grant for Federal Emergency Management, and after due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved authorizing the County Judge to apply for a Federal Emergency Management Grant.    
          


  9. Agenda #8 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #216/03:  The County Auditor presented all claims for the review of the Court.  After proper review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.  



             (The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the workshop agenda with 
              no action being taken on any item.)    



              There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
