AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 20th day of October, A.D. 2003, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #427/03:  It being nine a.m., COMMISSIONER CORTESE called the meeting to order and waived presentation of the minutes of October 14, 2003, at the present time.          



  2. Agenda #2a - Sandlin Drive Road

    • MINUTE ORDER #428/03:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously approved accepting the Sandlin Drive Road in Sherwood Shores VII, for County Maintenance in accordance with County Policy Letter dated March 16, 1987.     



  3. Agenda #2b - Abandoning Drainage Easement

    • MINUTE ORDER #429/03:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved abandoning the drainage easement on Lot #17, Centennial Subdivision, Section II, referred to as parcel #3 in the easement filed in Vol 1701, page 843, of the Official Real Estate Records of Bell County, and quit claiming parcel #3 to the owner of Lot #17.     
                   


  4. Agenda #3 - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #430/03:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.       



  5. Agenda #4 - Appointment of Representative to the Bell County Appraisal District Board

    • MINUTE ORDER #431/03:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved the reappointment of Brent Whitis as Bell County's representative on the Board of Directors of the Tax Appraisal District for a two year term beginning January 1, 2004.      



  6. Agenda #5 - Appointment to the Bell County Child Welfare Board

    • MINUTE ORDER #432/03:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved the appointment of Veronica Russell of Killeen to the Bell County Child Welfare Board.           



  7. Agenda #6 - Lease Agreement with Bell County Tax Appraisal District 

    • MINUTE ORDER #433/03:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved authorizing JUDGE BURROWS to execute a renewal and modification of a lease agreement with the Tax Appraisal District for additional space for the Tax Assessor-Collector.  All according to a copy of such agreement attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.          



  8. Agenda #7 - Advertise for bids for 15 vehicles

    • MINUTE ORDER #434/03:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously approved authorizing the County Auditor to advertise for bids for 7 pickups and 8 patrol cars for law enforcement vehicles.       



  9. Agenda #8 - Authorize purchase of four 140H Motor Graders

    • MINUTE ORDER #435/03:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously approved the purchase of four 140H Motor Graders via Interlocal Agreement for purchase through the Wood County Contract and further authorized advertising for bids for the sale of old motor graders to determine whether or not to sell or accept the re-purchase agreement.       



  10. Agenda #9 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #436/03:  The County Auditor presented all claims for the review of the Court.  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same on record in the office of the County Auditor.  


      (The Court then met with the Clearwater Underground Water District to discuss operation of the District with respect to subdivisions.)



              There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
