Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #482/03: It being nine a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts
attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes
of November 17, 2003. He asked if there were any
corrections or additions, there being no corrections, the minutes
were approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Authorize Road and Bridge Bid
- MINUTE ORDER #483/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously approved advertising for bids for aggregate for the annual
seal coat program.
Agenda #2b - Waived Subdivision Platting
Requirement
- MINUTE ORDER #484/03: The County Engineer presented
the matter of considering exception to subdivision platting requirements
for a 3.07 acre tract in the F.C. Booker Survey, abstract #125, off of FM
2115, to be purchased by Jarrell-Schwertner Water Supply Corporation for
construction of an elevated storage tank and water well. After due
discussion, the Court, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved such exception and ordered the County Clerk to file
the same in the Official Public Records of Bell County, Texas.
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #485/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Award to Commissioner Cortese
- MINUTE ORDER #486/03: Mr. Matt Gregory, representing
Little River-San Gabriel Soil Conservation District appeared before the
Court to present Precinct #1 Commissioner Richard Cortese with the 2003
Person of the Year Award.
Agenda #5 - 2003 Community Service Award
- MINUTE ORDER #487/03: JUDGE BURROWS recognized
Joe Baisden of Belton for his selection by the Agnes Wood Chapter,
Daughters of the American Revolution, as the 2003 Community Service Award
recipient.
Agenda #6 - Victim of Crimes Grant
- MINUTE ORDER #488/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved
the grant submission for the Victims of Crimes Act for the Bell County
Juvenile Probation Department.
Agenda #7 - Child Safety Fees
- MINUTE ORDER #489/03: Tax Assessor-Collector Sharon
Long appeared before the Court with the division by Cities of the Child
Safety Fees. Upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
BROWN, the Court unanimously approved
such division, all according to a copy of the same attached hereto.
Agenda #9 - Awarding Bid for Jail Columns Repair
- MINUTE ORDER #490/03: Mr. Russell Williams,
Assistant County Auditor presented the bids for performing repairs and
rehabilitation of the columns at the Bell County Jail. He reported
that the low bid was presented by Pinnacle of Moody in the amount of
$14,875.00. All according to a copy of Mr. Williams' report attached
hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #8 - H.E.L.P. Center
- MINUTE ORDER #491/03: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously
authorized July Morales of the H.E.L.P. Center to apply for United Way
Funds for the Center.
Agenda #10 - Bid for Removal of House at 120 North
Blair, Belton
- MINUTE ORDER #492/03: Mr. Russell Williams,
Assistant County Auditor presented the bids for the removal of the house
at 120 North Blair in Belton. Mr. Williams reported that he had
received only one bid. Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously
approved awarding such contract to TCB Construction Service in the amount
of $4700.00, excluding bond costs to remove and demolish such County owned
house.
Agenda #11 - Resolution Concerning Elimination of
Violation Against Women
- MINUTE ORDER #493/03: Mrs. Alice Ann Wallace,
representing the Blue Bonnet Club appeared before the Court to present a
Resolution recognizing November 25 as International Day to eliminate
violence against Women. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously
approved such resolution, the same being attached hereto.
Agenda #12 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #494/03: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. Upon motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE,
the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same on record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the
workshop agenda with no action being taken on the same.)
There being no further business, the meeting
was adjourned.
