met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #073/04: It being nine a.m. JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts
attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes
of February 20 and February 23, 2004. He asked if there were
any corrections or additions to the minutes; the minutes of February 20
were approved as submitted and the minutes of February 23 were approved as
amended.
Agenda #2a - Chesser-Pitrucha Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #074/04: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the final plat for Chesser-Pitrucha Subdivision and
recommended its approval. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved such subdivision plat and ordered the same filed for
record.
Agenda #2b - Bids for Fencing on Stallion Road
- MINUTE ORDER #075/04: The County Engineer reported
to the Court that bids had been opened on the construction of 3200 feet of
ROW fencing along Stallion Road and he recommended the low bidder, Ace
Fencing in the amount of $8,870.45 be awarded the contract. After
due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved awarding such fencing contract to Ace Fencing in the
amount of $8,870.45.
Agenda #2c - Abandonment of Drainage & Utility
Easements in Tanglewood Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #076/04: The County Engineer presented
the matter of abandoning the drainage and utility easements between Lots
33, 34 and 35 in the Tanglewood Subdivision and recommended its
approval. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved such abandonment.
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #077/04: JUDGE BURROWS presented
all personnel as submitted by the Human Resources Department and after due
discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved the same; all according to a copy of the same
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Letter of Agreement with Fort Hood
Concerning Radio Systems
- MINUTE ORDER #078/04: JUDGE BURROWS
presented the matter of a Letter of Agreement with Fort Hood concerning
the connection of compatible radio systems to create a Regional
Information shared system that would meet the Federal Homeland Defense
mandates. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER,
seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved authorizing JUDGE BURROWS to sign such
Letter of Agreement. All according to a copy of the same attached
hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #5 - Participation in the AUSA Adopt a Unit
Program at Fort Hood
- MINUTE ORDER #079/04: JUDGE BURROWS presented
the matter of the AUSA Adopt a Unit Program. After due discussion, upon motion of
JUDGE BURROWS, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved such Program to adopt a Unit.
Agenda #6 - Vacancy on Board of Bell County
Exposition Center
- MINUTE ORDER #080/04: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved the appointment of JIMMY PARKER, of
Belton, to fill a vacancy on the Board of the Bell County Exposition
Center.
Agenda #7 - Contract for Environmental Services
- MINUTE ORDER #081/04: The matter of environmental
services for the remediation of the County's proposed District and County
Clerk Record Storage Building was discussed and after due discussion,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously approved the ESESIS Company of Waco for such services.
Agenda #8 - Resolution Concerning National
Agriculture Week
- MINUTE ORDER #082/04: Upon motion of JUDGE
BURROWS, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved the week of March 14 through 20, 2004 as National
Agriculture Week.
Agenda #9 - Election Night Location and Procedures
- MINUTE ORDER #083/04: The County Clerk gave a brief
report on the March 9 primary election procedures. The returns would
again be handled at the Bell County Expo Center with viewing on real-time
reports.
Agenda #10 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #084/04: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims. All
according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the
County Auditor.
(The Court then went into Executive Session to discuss personnel and
thereafter went into workshop session to discuss those items on the
workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
