APRIL 19, 2004


AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 19th day of April, A.D. 2004, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #118/04:  It being nine a.m. JUDGE BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes of April 12, 2004 as amended.  He asked if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes; there being none, the minutes were approved as amended.             



  2. Agenda #5 - Proclamation for Volunteer Week

    • MINUTE ORDER #119/04:  Representatives of the Texas Cooperative Extension Service appeared before the Court to give a short report concerning the hours donated by volunteers in Bell County and request that a proclamation be approved by the Court.  After due discussion, upon motion of JUDGE BURROWS, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved a proclamation declaring the week of April 18th through the 24th, 2004 as National Volunteer Week in Bell County.  All according to a copy of such proclamation attached hereto.  



  3. Agenda #2a - Bakke Subdivision Plat

    • MINUTE ORDER #120/04:  The County Engineer presented the matter of final plat approval of the Bakke Subdivision Plat and recommended its approval.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously approved such final plat and ordered the same filed for record. 



  4. Agenda #2b - T.G. Russell Subdivision Plat

    • MINUTE ORDER #121/04:  The County Engineer presented the matter of approval of the T.G. Russell Subdivision Plat and recommended its approval.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved such final plat and ordered the same filed for record. 



  5. Agenda #3 - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #122/04:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto. 



  6. Agenda #4 - County Government Week

    • MINUTE ORDER #123/04:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by  COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court recognized members of the Holy Trinity High School who were visiting Bell County Government and approved a proclamation declaring the week of April 18-24, 2004, as County Government week in Bell County.  All according to a copy of such proclamation attached hereto.  



  7. Agenda #6 - Report on WMD County-Wide Exercise

    • MINUTE ORDER #124/04:  Mr. Steve Casey, Fire Marshal, gave a report concerning the recent exercise of Weapons of Mass Destruction County-Wide Exercise held on April 13-14, 2004.  The same being attached hereto.       



  8. Agenda #7 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #125/04:  The County Auditor presented all claims for the review of the Court.  After proper review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor. 


      (The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)



              There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
