AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 26th day of April, A.D. 2004, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #126/04:  It being nine a.m. JUDGE BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes of April 19, 2004 as amended.  He asked if there were any corrections or additions, there being no corrections, the minutes were approved as submitted.             



  2. Agenda #2a - Setting Public Hearing Date

    • MINUTE ORDER #127/04:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court set May 24, 2004, at nine a.m. to hold a public hearing for the vacation/abandonment of Cutoff Road.  



  3. Agenda #2b - Sanders Park Addition

    • MINUTE ORDER #128/04:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved the final plat of Sanders Park Addition and ordered the same filed for record.  



  4. Agenda #3 - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #129/04:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes. 



  5. Agenda #4 - Report on Task Force Ironhorse Day at Fort Hood

    • MINUTE ORDER #130/04:  JUDGE BURROWS gave a report on "Task Force Ironhorse Day" at Fort Hood on April 22 and receipt of the Commander's Certificate from the Commanding General of 4th ID for support of Fort Hood soldiers and their families.   



  6. Agenda #5 - Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries, Inc.

    • MINUTE ORDER #131/04:  JUDGE BURROWS presented the matter of an Order Approving the Issuance of a Note by the Mart Cultural Facilities Corporation for Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries, Inc to satisfy I.R.S. regulations under Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code concerning approval by jurisdictions in which the Goodwill Project is located, with no liability or obligation of Bell County.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court unanimously approved such order.  All according to a copy of such order attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.        



  7. Agenda #6 - BellNET Grant

    • MINUTE ORDER #132/04:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved a grant submission by BellNET, Inc for U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service Distance Learning and Telemedicine Grant Program and for the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Telecommunications and Information Administration, Technology Opportunities for certain rural community agencies.



  8. Agenda #7 - Public Meeting concerning Jail/Courts Bond Issue

    • MINUTE ORDER #133/04:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved setting a public meeting concerning the Jail/Courts Bond Issue for seven p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2004, at the Bell County Expo Center.



  9. Agenda #8 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #134/04:  The County Auditor presented all claims for the review of the Court.  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same on record in the office of the County Auditor. 


      (The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the workshop agenda with no action being taken on the same.)



              There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
