met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #135/04: It being nine a.m. JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts
attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes
of April 26, 2004. He asked if there were
any corrections or additions to the minutes; there being none, the minutes
were approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Bids for Limestone Base for Sunshine-Strasburger
Road Project
- MINUTE ORDER #136/04: The County Engineer presented
the matter of advertising for bids for furnishing crushed limestone base
to the Sunshine-Strasburger Road project and after due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously authorized the County Engineer to advertise for such
bids.
Agenda #2b - Letter of Credit #0390 - First State
Bank
- MINUTE ORDER #137/04: The County Engineer presented
the matter of releasing a Letter of Credit No. 0390, First State Bank, in
the amount of $5,740.00 for the maintenance of streets in the Mill Creek
Springs III Subdivision and requested its release. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved such request and authorized the County Engineer to
release such Letter of Credit #0390.
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #138/04: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached
hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Report from Director of Area Agency on
Aging
- MINUTE ORDER #139/04: Mr. Richard McGhee and Ms.
Polly Elzono, representing the Area Agency on Aging appeared before the
Court to give a report on the new Medicare-Approved Drug Discount Card,
with enrollment beginning May 3 and cards become active June 1,
2004.
Agenda #5 - FY 2003 Annual Audit Report
- MINUTE ORDER #140/04: Ms. Lisa McKinnon of Brockway,
Gersbach, McKinnon & Niemeier, Independent Certified Public
Accountants presented the County's FY 2003 Annual Audit Report. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded
by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously approved the
acceptance of such Outside Audit and ordered the same filed for
record. Such audit being of record in the County Clerk's Office and
the County Auditor's Office.
Agenda #6 - Presentation of Government Finance
Officers Association Award
- MINUTE ORDER #141/04: JUDGE BURROWS presented
the County Auditor's Office with the Government Finance Officers
Association's Award for Bell County's comprehensive Annual Financial
Report for the Fiscal Year ended September 30, 2003.
Agenda #7 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #142/04: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims. All
according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the
County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the
workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
