met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #476/04: It being nine a.m. JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts
attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes
of December 20, 2004. He asked if there were any corrections or
additions to the minutes; there
being no corrections, the minutes were approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Public Hearing on Vacation of
Krause Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #477/04: JUDGE BURROWS opened
the public hearing for the purpose of vacating the Krause Subdivision
previously approved by the Court on June 17, 2004, and of record in the
County Clerk's Office in Plat cabinet "C," slide 395-d, Vol
5409, page 362. He asked if there were any public comment on such
matter; there being none, the public hearing was closed and thereafter,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved vacating the Krause Subdivision and ordered the
County Clerk to file in the Official Public Records of Bell County such
action of the Court.
Agenda #2b - Public Hearing on Installation of
Traffic Control Device
- MINUTE ORDER #478/04: JUDGE BURROWS opened
the public hearing for the purpose of considering approval of the
installation of a Yield Right of Way sign at the intersection of Luther
Curtis at Franklin Road, for East-bound traffic. He asked if there
were any comments; there being none, he closed the public hearing and thereafter,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved the installation of such traffic control device.
Agenda #2c - Live Oak Acres Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #479/04: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the final approval of the Live Oak Acres Subdivision and
recommended its approval. After due discussion,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved the final plat for Live Oak Acres Subdivision and
ordered the same filed for record.
Agenda #2d - South Shore Subdivision 1st Extension
- MINUTE ORDER #480/04: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, the Court
unanimously approved the placing of the roads in South Shore Subdivision,
1st Extension in the Annual Work Plan for 2005 and adding them to the list
of County-maintained roads after completion of the construction.
Agenda #2e - Sobrante Road Annexation
- MINUTE ORDER #481/04: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER
FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved authorizing the County Judge to request, in writing,
the annexation of Sobrante Road, A County Road, by the City of Morgan's
Point Resort, in response to the City's request for the annexation.
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #482/04: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these
minutes for all purposes.
Agenda #4 - Inmate Pay Telephone Agreement
- MINUTE ORDER #483/04: At the request of the Sheriff's
Department and upon their recommendation, on motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved the exercising of a one year option, the first of two
such options, to extend the Inmate Pay Telephone Agreement, dated December
3, 2001, between Bell County and Evercom Systems, Inc. a/k/a Secure Us, for
an inmate telecommunications system. All according to a copy of the
same attached hereto.
Agenda #5 - Agreement with Lone Star Legal Aid
- MINUTE ORDER #484/04: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved the Cooperative Working Agreement with Lone Star
Legal Aid in support of a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) funding grant for
Rural Central Texas Family Protection project. All according to a
copy of the same attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #6 - Panel Specialist, Inc of Temple
- MINUTE ORDER #485/04: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
SCHILLER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved the tax abatement for the Panel Specialist, Inc. of
Temple, Texas. All according to a copy of the same attached hereto
and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #7 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #486/04: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims. All
according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the
County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the
workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
