AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 3rd day of January, 2005, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the
following members of said Court present, to-wit:

(JUDGE BURROWS called the meeting to order and Introduced District Judge Rick
Morris who introduced Chief Justice Wallace Jefferson of the Texas Supreme
Court. Justice Jefferson in his remarks to those present explained his
connection with the Central Texas Area. He explained that District Judge
Battle who had been District Judge for Bell County during the Civil War area had
been the owner of Justice Jefferson's gt-gt-gt grandfather Shedrick Willis of
McLennan County. Thereafter Justice Jefferson gave the official oath of
office to all elected officials as attached hereto and made a part of these
minutes. Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
FISHER, the Court unanimously approved all official bonds and ordered the
same filed for record. After such swearing in ceremony, a short reception
was held for the officials and with all members aforementioned in open Court,
the following transpired.)
Agenda #6 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #01/05: JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts
attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes
of December 27, 2004. He asked if there were any corrections or
additions to the minutes; there
being no corrections, the minutes were approved as submitted.
Agenda #8 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #02/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these
minutes.
Agenda #9 - Precinct #2 Local Registrar
- MINUTE ORDER #03/05: The County Clerk presented the
request of Justice of the Peace, Precinct #2 Donald Engleking to ask in
accordance with Article 191.022 of the Health and Safety Code to request the
County Clerk to serve as Local Registrar of Justice Precinct #2. All
according to such request attached hereto and made a part of these
minutes. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the Court
unanimously approved such request.
Agenda #10 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #04/05: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, upon
motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims. All
according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the
County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the
workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
