met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #44/05: It being nine a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and waived the presentation
of the minutes of January 31, 2005, at the present time.
Agenda #2a - Annual Report of Road and Bridge
Department
- MINUTE ORDER #45/05: The County Engineer presented
the annual report of the work done by the Road and Bridge Department, a
copy of the same being attached hereto. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE the Court
unanimously approved such annual report.
Agenda #2b - Limited Agreement/Contract for Utility
Adjustments and Engineering Testing
- MINUTE ORDER #46/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of a limited agreement/contract on behalf of the Commissioners'
Court for Bell County right of way and utility adjustments and
engineering/testing of roads up to a maximum of $10,000.00 in costs per
agreement or contract. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved authorizing the County Engineer to execute, on behalf
of Bell County, Texas, any right of way and utility adjustments and
engineering/testing of roads up to a maximum of $10,000.00 in costs per
agreement or contract without prior approval of other than the
Commissioner whose precinct it affects.
Agenda #2c - Award fencing bid on Landfill Road in
Precinct #2
- MINUTE ORDER #47/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the bid for fencing for Landfill Road in Precinct #2.
After due discussion concerning such bid, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously accepted the low bid from B & B Fencing as recommended by
the County Engineer, in the amount of $26,870.08.
Agenda #2d - Preliminary Plat for Moffat Springs
Addition, Phase Five & Six Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #48/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved the preliminary plat for Moffat Springs Addition,
Phases Five and Six Subdivision.
Agenda #2e - Rescinding of Bid for a One-ton Service
Truck for Sign Crew
- MINUTE ORDER #49/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved rescinding the award of bid No.19-04 to Gunn
Chevrolet in San Antonio for a one-ton service truck for the sign crew and
consider allowing the purchase of an additional one-ton pickup through the
H.G.A.C. as was approved in Bid No. 24-04.
Agenda #3 & #4 - Personnel and Employment of
Weldon Whalen
- MINUTE ORDER #50/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status report forms and the employment
of Weldon Whalen for the 4-H and Youth Development position in the Bell
County Cooperative Extension Office. All according to a copy of such
employee status report forms attached hereto and made a part of these
minutes.
Agenda #5 - Appointment for Board Member of Hill
Country Community Action Board
- MINUTE ORDER #51/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved the appointment of COMMISSIONER FISHER as
a Board Member of the Hill Country Community Action Advisory Board and
approved the appointment of COMMISSIONER LANGE as the
Alternate Board Member.
Agenda #6 - Hazardous Materials Emergency
Preparedness Planning Grant
- MINUTE ORDER #52/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved the acceptance of a $25,000.00 Hazardous Materials
Emergency Preparedness planning grant from the Governor's Division of
Emergency Management for use by the Bell County Local Emergency Planning
Committee (LEPC).
Agenda #7 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #53/05: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on
the workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
