Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #186/05: It being nine a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts
attention the fact that they had previously received copies of the minutes
of May 9, 2005. He asked if there were
any corrections or additions to the minutes; there being no corrections, the minutes were
approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Drug Task Force Report
- MINUTE ORDER #187/05: Sheriff Dan Smith; District
Attorney Henry Garza; Commander Mike Cowie, and Eleno Alvarado of the Drug
Task Force appeared before the Court to discuss the recommendation of the
Board of Advisors of the Central Texas Narcotics Task Force to withdraw
the Task Force from the Grant Program of the Criminal Justice Division of
the Governor's Office and to continue the operation of the Task Force
independently. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded
by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the Court unanimously approved
authorizing JUDGE BURROWS to write a letter so notifying the
Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office of such action.
Agenda #3a - Mill Creek Springs, Phase V
- MINUTE ORDER #188/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the final approval of the Plat for Mill Creek Springs, Phase
V and recommended its approval. After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE,
the Court unanimously approved such final plat and ordered the same filed
for record.
Agenda #3b - Heritage Subdivision Letter of Credit
- MINUTE ORDER #189/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of releasing a Letter of Credit #440, First State Bank of
Central Texas, in the amount of $30,265.00 for improvements in Heritage
Subdivision, Precinct #2. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved the releasing of such Letter of Credit.
Agenda #3c - Michel Acres Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #190/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the Michel Acres Subdivision, a 3-Lot, 0.785 acre
subdivision off of Loop 121 in the ETJ of the City of Belton and
recommended its denial due to failure to comply with the Subdivision
Regulations. After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN,
the Court unanimously approved denying such application due to failure to
comply with the Subdivision Regulations.
Agenda #3d - The Oaks of Cedar Ridge, Phase II
Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #191/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of the final plat of The Oaks of Cedar Ridge, Phase II
Subdivision and recommended its approval. After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN,
the Court unanimously approved such subdivision plat and ordered the same
filed for record.
Agenda #4 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #192/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #5 - Recognition of Jill Hargrove
- MINUTE ORDER #193/05: District Attorney
Henry Garza presented Ms. Jill Hargrove to the Court as the recipient of
the Texas Crime Victims Award. Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously thanked Ms. Hargrove for her receipt of the Pioneer Award from
the Texas Crime Victims Clearinghouse.
Agenda #6 - Authority to Bids for Health and Dental
Insurance
- MINUTE ORDER #194/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously
approved authorizing the County Auditor to advertise for requests for
proposals for employee health and dental insurance.
Agenda #7 - Authority for County Auditor to
advertise for Bids
- MINUTE ORDER #195/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
LANGE, the Court
unanimously approved authorizing the County Auditor to advertise for
Qualifications for a Licensed Asbestos Consultant Agency and a Licensed
Mold Assessment Company.

Advertise for Bids
- MINUTE ORDER #196/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously
approved advertising for bids for road and bridge equipment as approved
with the issuance of the Public Property Finance Contractual Obligations,
Series 2005.
Agenda #9 - Audit Engagement Letters for Fiscal Year
Ending September 30, 2005
- MINUTE ORDER #197/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously
approved authorizing JUDGE BURROWS to execute the audit
engagement letters for the year ending September 30. 2005 with the firm of
Brockway, Gersbach, McKinnon & Niemeier for the Bell County
independent audit.
Agenda #10 - Conveyance of Property to the City of
Belton
- MINUTE ORDER #198/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously
approved authorizing the County Judge to sign appropriate documents
pursuant to an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Belton dated June 10,
1997, to convey Lots 4-9, Block 47; Lot 1 and West 1/2 of Lot #2, Block
46, all in the original town of Belton back to the City of Belton.
Agenda #11 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #199/05: The County Auditor presented
all claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on
the workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
