Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #234/05: It being nine a.m., JUDGE
BURROWS called the meeting to order and called to the Courts
attention the fact that they had received the minutes of June 13, 2005.
After due discussion, the minutes were approved as submitted.
Agenda #2a - Purchasing Caterpillar 928 GZ &
Caterpillar CP 563E
- MINUTE ORDER #235/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of purchasing a Caterpillar 928 GZ Wheel Loader and a
Caterpillar CP 563E. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
FISHER, seconded
by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved to
purchase the Caterpillar 928 GZ & the Caterpillar CP 563 E for the
Road and Bridge Department through the BuyBoard On-Line Purchasing
program.
Agenda #2b - Purchasing as Asphalt Zipper
- MINUTE ORDER #236/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of Purchasing an Asphalt Zipper through Houston-Galveston Area
Council Cooperative Purchasing Program in the amount of $79,119.00. After due discussion, upon
the motion of
COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER,
the Court unanimously approved to purchase the Asphalt Zipper in the
amount of $79,119.00.
Agenda #2c - Setting Public Hearing for Abandonment
of Patterson Crossing Road
- MINUTE ORDER #237/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of setting a date for public hearing on the
Abandonment/Closure/Vacation of Patterson Crossing Road, Precinct 2.
After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved setting the date of July 18, 2005 for Public Hearing
for Patterson Crossing Road.
Agenda #2d - Relocate Water Lines for Highland
School/Five Wells Road Project
- MINUTE ORDER #238/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of authorizing East Bell Water Supply Corp. to relocate water
lines for the Highland School/Five Wells Road Project. Upon motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE,
the Court unanimously approved the relocation of water lines in the amount
of $14,675.00 for the Highland School/Five Wells Road Project Precinct 3.
Agenda #2e - Sherwood Shores VI, Section One
- MINUTE ORDER #239/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of abandonment and release of Drainage and Utility Easements on
Lots 248, 249, 250, 251, and 252, Sherwood Shores VI, Section One,
Precinct 3. After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER,
the Court unanimously approved the abandonment and release.
Agenda #2f - Improvements to Iduma Trail Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #240/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter of releasing Letter of Credit No 314, Union State Bank,
Florence, in the amount of $68,500.00 for improvements to Iduma Trail
Subdivision and accepting a cashier's check from the same bank in the
amount of $68,500.00. After due discussion, upon
the motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE,
with COMMISSIONER FISHER abstaining,
the Court approved to release Letter of credit and accepted a cashiers
check in the amount of $68,500.00.
Agenda #2g - Bids for purchase of Dump Trucks
- MINUTE ORDER #241/05: The County Engineer presented
the matter to consider awarding bids for the purchase of four 5.5 C.Y.
Dump Trucks from Longhorn International. After due discussion, upon
the motion of
COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN,
the Court unanimously approved to purchase four 5.5 C.Y. dump trucks from
Longhorn International.
The County Engineer also
presented to consider the purchase of two 13-16 C.Y. Dump Trucks from
Temple Freightliner. After due discussion, upon the motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved to purchase two 13-16 C.Y. Dump Trucks.
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #242/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Approval of Deputy Clerk Position
- MINUTE ORDER #243/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved the position of Deputy Clerk for the County Clerk's
Office and budget amendment.
Agenda #5 - Consideration of Burn Ban
- MINUTE ORDER #244/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER
FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved to implement a 30 day Burn Ban beginning Thursday,
June 23, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. This stands true unless the restrictions
are terminated earlier based on a determination made by this Commissioners
Court that the circumstances creating a public safety no longer
exist. The County Judge is authorized to administratively lift the
ban for up to seventy-two hours upon his determination that circumstances
warrant such action.
Agenda #6 - Texas Indigent Health Care Association
- MINUTE ORDER #245/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved to authorize Bell County to join the Texas Indigent
Health Care Association and authorizing payment of Charter Membership fee
of $500.00.
Agenda #7 - Healthx
- MINUTE ORDER #246/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved to table the approval of a Letter of Agreement with
Healthx, Inc.
Agenda #8 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #247/05: JUDGE JON H. BURROWS,
County Judge presented the claims for review to the Court. After proper review, upon
the motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on
the workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
