Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #284/05: It being nine a.m., COMMISSIONER
RICHARD CORTESE, called the meeting to order and called to the Courts
attention the fact that they had received the minutes of July 12, 2005.
After due discussion, the minutes were approved as
submitted.
Agenda #2a - Public Hearing on Patterson Crossing
Road Closure
- MINUTE ORDER #285/05: Tom Berrier, Assistant
County Engineer presented
that matter to consider vacation/abandonment/closure of Patterson Crossing
Road. COMMISSIONER RICHARD CORTESE opened for a public
meeting. Bell County resident Susan Edens discussed her
concerns of vehicles becoming stuck due to flooding, littering, and the
public entering upon her private property. She expressed her feeling
to have the road closed. Bell County resident, Ira Black presented
letters from six families to not close Patterson Crossing. Mr. Black
stated the area has certain water value and recreational value, and it
helps in their quality of life. He suggested to the Court to allow
30 days to speak with the surrounding land owners before a decision is
made. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded
by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the Court unanimously approved to
table the matter of closing Patterson Crossing Road until August 15,
2005.
Agenda #2b - Awarding bid for purchase of an Edge
Patcher
- MINUTE ORDER #286/05: Tom Berrier, Assistant
County Engineer, presented
the matter of purchasing an Edge Patcher from Lone Star Machinery at the
bid price of $11,526.20. This price was stated to be under the
budgeted amount of $12,000.00. After due discussion, upon the motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE,
the Court unanimously approved to purchase the Edge Patcher from Lone Star
Machinery.
Agenda #2c - Awarding bid for purchase of two Chassis
Tractor, 6X4
- MINUTE ORDER #287/05: Tom Berrier, Assistant
County Engineer, presented
the matter to reject all previous bids and check with the "Buy
Board" to assist other bids. After due discussion,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved to authorize to purchase from the buy board.
Agenda #2d - Approval for Final Plat of Renick
Subdivision
- MINUTE ORDER #288/05: Tom Berrier, Assistant
County Engineer, presented
the matter of approval of the Final Plat for Renick Subdivision, a
Four-Lot, 4.989 Acres Subdivision fronting on Acres Road, in Precinct
3. After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN,
the Court unanimously approved the Final Plat of Renick Subdivision.
Agenda #2e - Quick Claim Deed for Temple Academy
Dragway
- MINUTE ORDER #289/05: Tom Berrier, Assistant
County Engineer, presented
the matter of authorizing County Judge to sign Quit Claim Deed for Temple
Academy Dragway. John Gauntt, representative for Linda Tomastik
presented a deed which is attached hereto and made a part of these
minutes. After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE,
the Court unanimously approved to sign Quit Claim Deed for Excess property
off old Hwy 95 (Old Right of Way).
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #290/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
LANGE, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Audit Report of Criminal Asset
Forfeitures
- MINUTE ORDER #291/05: Donna Eakin, County
Auditor, presented the audit report on proceeds of Criminal Asset
Forfeitures of Central Texas Narcotics Task Force. After due
discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
LANGE, the Court unanimously approved the audit report which is
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #5 - Bell County Burn Ban Extension
- MINUTE ORDER #292/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
LANGE, seconded by
COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously approved to allow
the Burn Ban to expire as set forth by the Commissioners Court on June 23,
2005. This being true the Burn Ban will expire at Dusk on July 22,
2005.
Agenda #6 - National Incident Management System (NIMS)
- MINUTE ORDER #293/05: After due
discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
LANGE, the Court
unanimously approved the adopting of the National Incident Management
System, all according to a copy of the same being attached hereto and made
a part of these minutes.
Agenda #7 - Logistic Staging Area
- MINUTE ORDER #294/05: After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER
FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved the naming of the Bell County Expo Center as the
Logistic Staging Area, all according to a copy of the same being attached
hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #8 - County's Contribution Rate of Employee
Health and Dental Benefits
- MINUTE ORDER #295/05: Ron Heuss, Human
Resources Director, presented the recommended rates for Bell County's
contribution to employee health and dental insurance benefits, all
according to a copy of the same being attached hereto and made a part of
these minutes. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved the contribution rates.
Agenda #9 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #296/05: Commissioner Richard
Cortese presented the claims for the review of the Court. After proper review, upon
the motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on
the workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
