Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #398/05: It being nine a.m., Judge
Jon H. Burrows, called the regular meeting of the Commissioner's
Court to order and called to the Courts
attention that they had received the minutes of September 26, 2005 and
September 30, 2005.
After due discussion, the minutes were approved as corrected.
Agenda #2a - Letter of Credit No. 493
- MINUTE ORDER #399/05: Upon
motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the Court unanimously approved
a reduction ($295,000.00 to $203,848.36) on Letter of Credit No. 493,
First State Bank Central Texas, for improvements in the Eagle Oaks At The
Lake, Phase I Subdivision, and extending the expiration to December 11,
2005.
Agenda #2b - Letter of Credit No. 1019 and 1018
- MINUTE ORDER #400/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by
COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved releasing the Maintenance Letters of Credit No. 1019
and 1018, First Texas Bank, in the amounts of $11,000.00 and 5,000.00
respectively, for improvements in Cedar Oaks Estates.
Agenda #2c - Final Approval of the Plat for Lonesome
Dove
- MINUTE ORDER #401/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by
COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved the final Plat for Lonesome Dove Addition, a One-Lot,
1.0 Acre Subdivision fronting on Dove Road, Precinct 3.
Agenda #2d - Payment to Elm Creek Water Supply
- MINUTE ORDER #402/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by
COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court
unanimously approved payment of approximately $37,225.00 to Elm Creek
Water Supply for the relocation of water line on the Dove Road
project.
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #403/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Burn Ban
- MINUTE ORDER #404/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved to immediately life the 30 day Burn Ban.
Agenda #5 - 2005 Excellence in Going the Extra Mile
Award
- MINUTE ORDER #405/05: The 2005 Excellence in Going
the Extra Mile Award was presented to Bell County at the 83rd Annual
Conference of the County Judges and Commissioners Association in Lubbock
on October 6, 2005. This award was presented for Bell County's work
in providing intervention with basic needs with a focus on recipients
obtaining independence from public assistance. This award would not
have been possible without the great works of the Temple and Killeen HELP
Centers.
Agenda #6 - Commending the Work of Michael Christ
- MINUTE ORDER #406/05: Judge Burrows presented
Michael Christ, Deputy Director of the Killeen HELP Center with a
Commendation Letter from the Texas Veterans Commission commending him for
work done assisting evacuees from Hurricane Katrina from Louisiana.
Agenda #7 - National 4-H Week from October 3-9, 2005
- MINUTE ORDER #407/05: Weldon Waylon, 4-H Coordinator
presented Rebecca Bulls, Sara Butler, Ashley Roberts, and Elizabeth White,
all 4-H members. The ladies gave a presentation on what 4-H means
and how it can help the youth to be better members of the community.
Agenda #8 - Bell County Auction
- MINUTE ORDER #408/05: Russell Williams, Assistant
County
Auditor, presented the September 24, 2005 report on the Bell County
Auction. After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by
COMMISSIONER LANGE, the Court
unanimously approved the results from the Bell Count Auction. All
according to the same being attached hereto and made a part of these
minutes.
Agenda #9 - Advertise for Bids for Supplying Fuel to
Bell County
- MINUTE ORDER #409/05: After due discussion,
upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER
FISHER, the Court
unanimously approved to advertise for bids for supplying fuel to Bell
County.
Agenda #10 - SB 7 Indigent Defense Grant
- MINUTE ORDER #410/05: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by
COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved application for annual SB 7 Indigent Defense Grant
for the Task Force on Indigent Defense in the projected amount of
$137,726.00 and designation of the County Judge as Authorized Official,
Jennifer Lawyer as Program Director and Contact Person, and the County
Auditor as Financial Officer.
Agenda #11 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #411/05: Judge Jon H. Burrows,
County Judge, presented the claims for review to the Court. After proper review, upon
the motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court
unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a copy of the
same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
Agenda #12 - Executive Session
- MINUTE ORDER #412/05: (The Court went into Executive
Session as authorized by Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code
regarding Personnel matters. The Court went into Executive Session
at 9:46 a.m. and came out of Executive Session at 9:59 a.m. and took no
action following Executive Session.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
