met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #161/06: It being nine a.m., Judge
Jon H. Burrows, called the regular meeting of the Commissioner's
Court to order and called to the Courts attention that they had received
the minutes of April 3, 2006. After due discussion, the minutes
were approved as presented.
Agenda #2 - Engineer
- MINUTE ORDER #162/06: There were no items for the
County Engineer to present at this time.
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #163/06: Upon motion of COMMISSIONER
FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the
Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same
being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Telecommunications Week
- MINUTE ORDER #164/06: After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved to proclaim the week of April 9, 2006 as
Telecommunications Week.
Agenda #5 - Juror Fees
- MINUTE ORDER #165/06: After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the Court
unanimously gave approval and ratification of 2006 Juror fees as per FY
2006 Budget.
Agenda #6 - Authorization to Sign Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #166/06: After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the Court unanimously approved
to designate County Treasurer, Charles Jones, and Assistant Treasurer,
Melissa Vrabel to sign claims for reimbursement from the Texas Comptroller
for juror fees pursuant to SB 1704 and section 61.0015 of the Texas
Government Code from fees collected by the County and remitted to the State
Comptroller.
Agenda #7 - Texas VINE
- MINUTE ORDER #167/06: After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE,
the Court
unanimously approved Service Agreement with Appriss, the certified vendor,
increasing the funds available from $24,802.00 to $28,037.00 for automated
victim notification services.
Agenda #8 - First Southwest Company
- MINUTE ORDER #168/06: Garry Kimball of First
Southwest Company gave report and update on financing options,
alternatives, and recommendations to fund FY 2006 Capital Projects and
discussed the long term effects of leasing jail beds. After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the
Court unanimously approved the report of Garry Kimball.
Agenda #9 - Amendment No. 4
- MINUTE ORDER #169/06: After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved Amendment No. 4 to the Owner/Architect
Agreement for Bell County Justice Center for new jail addition at the Loop
121 Site.
Agenda #10 - Board of Public Power Pool
- MINUTE ORDER #170/06: After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the
Court unanimously approved to nominate Commissioner Tim Brown to the Board
of Public Power Pool, the electric power purchasing aggregation of the
Conference of Urban Counties.
Agenda #11 - SBI.Enteris
- MINUTE ORDER #171/06: After due discussion, upon motion of
COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the
Court unanimously approved Statement of Work with sbi.enteris for SB 1863
Collections Project for professional services.
Agenda #12 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #172/06: Judge Jon H. Burrows, County
Judge, presented the claims for review to the Court. After proper
review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER
CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims. All
according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the
County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on
the workshop agenda with
no action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
