April 17, 2006


AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 17th day of April, 2006, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #173/06:  It being nine a.m., Judge Jon H. Burrows, called the regular meeting of the Commissioner's Court to order and called to the Courts attention that they had received the minutes of April 10, 2006.  After due discussion, the minutes were approved as presented.



  2. Agenda #2a - Releasing Maintenance Bond No. 562774S

    • MINUTE ORDER #174/06:  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved  to release Maintenance Bond No. 562774S, in the amount of $24,275.00 for Ivy Trails, Phase II in precinct 4. 



  3. Agenda #2b - Hicks Subdivision

    • MINUTE ORDER #175/06:  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court gave unanimous approval for Hicks Subdivision. 



  4. Agenda #2c - Weldon Morgan Addition

    • MINUTE ORDER #176/06:  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court gave unanimous approval for the Weldon Morgan Addition in precinct 3. 



  5. Agenda #3 - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #177/06:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes. 



  6. Agenda #4 - County Government Week

    • MINUTE ORDER #178/06:  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER FISHER, the Court unanimously approved to proclaim the week of April 17, 2006 as County Government Week in Bell County, Texas.



  7. Agenda #5 - Bell County Cooperative Extension Office

    • MINUTE ORDER #179/06:  Dirk Aaron, from the Bell County Cooperative Extension Office gave a report on the programs and functions of the Extension office and asked for approval to designate the week of April 23, 2006 as National Volunteer Week.  He introduced Sheryl Crawford, Linda Fuchs, and Dustin Coufal all from the Extension Office and commended them on their dedication.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved to designate National Volunteer week in Bell County, Texas. 



  8. Agenda #6 - Ellison High School & Temple High School

    • MINUTE ORDER #180/06: Judge Jon H. Burrows and the Commissioners' Court recognized students from Ellison High School and Temple High School as each student stood and introduced themselves.  The students are participating in County Government Week and will visit different areas of the Bell County Government systems. 



  9. Agenda #7 - Cooperative Working Agreement

    • MINUTE ORDER #181/06:  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGEthe Court unanimously approved the Cooperative Working Agreement with Lone Star Legal Aid in its application for a Violence Against Women Act grant funding for the Military Women and Immigrants' Advocacy Project. 



  10. Agenda #8 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #182/06:   Judge Jon H. Burrows, County Judge, presented the claims for review to the Court.  After proper review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.  


            (The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the workshop agenda with
             no action being taken on any item.)



            There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
