May 30, 2006


AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 30th day of May, 2006, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #226/06:  It being nine a.m., Judge Jon H. Burrows, called the regular meeting of the Commissioner's Court to order and called to the Courts attention that they had received the minutes of May 23, 2006.  After due discussion, the minutes were approved as presented.



  2. Agenda #2a - Plat for Crooked Creek Subdivision

    •  MINUTE ORDER #227/06:  County Engineer, Richard Macchi, presented the plat for Crooked Creek Subdivision, a 25-Lot, 54.95 acre subdivision off of F.M. 436, in the E.T.J. of the City of Temple, for preliminary approval.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER LANGE, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved the above matter.



  3. Agenda #3 - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #228/06:  Upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.  



  4. Agenda #4 - Bell County Historical Commission

    • MINUTE ORDER #229/06:  Ron Gates, with the Bell County Historical Commission presented the report on the 2006 Annual Preservation Award Competition for Historic Bell County Public Structures, 60 years or older, with deadline of June 30, 2006 for submissions.  After due discussion, the Court made motion to commend all persons involved in the Historical Commission. 



  5. Agenda #5 - Property and Liability Insurance

    • MINUTE ORDER #230/06:  County Judge, Jon H. Burrows, presented the matter of awarding bid for property and liability insurance.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER LANGE, the Court unanimously approved to award the bid to Extraco Insurance with the underwriter being St. Paul for a one year period with option to renew annually for up to four more years.   



  6. Agenda #6 - Bell County Building Construction Projects

    • MINUTE ORDER #231/06:  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER FISHER, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved the survey declaring the general prevailing wage rates for the next three years unless changed by the action of the Court, for use in Bell County Building Construction Projects.  A copy of such survey is attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.   



  7. Agenda #7 - Mutual Aid Agreements

    • MINUTE ORDER #232/06:  Steve Casey, Bell County Fire Marshal presented for approval the Mutual Aid Agreements for DR 1624 with the Florence Volunteer Fire Department, Moffat Volunteer Fire Department, Southwest Bell Volunteer Fire Department, and Stillhouse Volunteer Fire Department.  After due discussion, upon motion of COMMISSIONER CORTESE, seconded by COMMISSIONER BROWN, the Court unanimously approved this matter. 



  8. Agenda #8 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #233/06:   Judge Jon H. Burrows, County Judge, presented the claims for review to the Court.  After proper review, upon motion of COMMISSIONER BROWN, seconded by COMMISSIONER CORTESE, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.  


               (The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the workshop agenda with
                 no action being taken on any item.)



                There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
