Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #223/07: It being nine a.m.,
Judge Jon Burrows called the regular meeting of the Commissioners'
Court to order and called to the Courts attention that the minutes of May 14,
2007 regular session had been received. After due discussion, these
minutes were approved as presented.
Agenda #2 - County Engineer
- MINUTE ORDER #224/07: No action taken.
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #225/07: Upon motion of
Commissioner Eddy Lange, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese, the
Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Bell County Loss Control Committee
- MINUTE ORDER #226/07: Judge Jon
Burrows recognized and honored the Bell County Loss Control Committee
for Bell County being awarded a 2006 Gold Star Safety Award by the Texas
Association of Counties for the County's record of excellence in the
involvement and commitment to safety in the workplace, as well as for
controlling Worker's Compensation claims. Only ten counties in Texas
received the award.
Committee members honored are:

After due discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner John Fisher, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange,
the Court unanimously approved this matter.
Agenda #5 - Texas Department of Licensing and
Regulation Compliance
- MINUTE ORDER #227/07: The court received Notice of
Substantial Compliance from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
stating that the new Bell County Justice Center is in compliance with the
Texas Architectural Barriers Act and entitled to an "Access For All" decal.
The decal from the Texas Governor's Committee on People with Disabilities
can be displayed at the facility entrance to signify compliance with state
accessibility requirements. No action taken.
Agenda #6 - May 12, 2007 Election Results
- MINUTE ORDER #228/07: County Clerk, Shelley
Coston presented for approval the canvass of election results from May
12, 2007 Constitutional Amendment Election. The results which will be
submitted to the Secretary of State of Texas are as follows: Total
number of Voters Voted: 6,037; In Favor: 5,639; Against:
382. After due discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner Tim Brown,
the Court unanimously approved this matter.
Agenda #7 - Bell County Depository
- MINUTE ORDER #229/07: County Treasurer, Charles
Jones presented the matter of awarding the Bell County Depository
Contract, including the Trust Account Contracts. Four bids were
received during the bid process. Compass Bank was awarded the bid for
a four year period. After due discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese, the
Court unanimously approved this matter, Commissioner John Fisher
abstaining.
Agenda #8 - Advertising for Bids
- MINUTE ORDER #230/07: After due discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner John Fisher,
the Court unanimously approved authorizing the County Auditor to advertise
for bids for an aerial lift for Building & Grounds Department.
Agenda #9 - Statewide Automated Victim Notification
Service
- MINUTE ORDER #231/07: Sheriff, Dan Smith
presented for approval the renewal of Statewide Automated Victim
Notification Service (SAVNS) Grant Contract between Bell County and the
Office of the Attorney General of Texas (OAG) in which the OAG will
reimburse Bell County for certain costs, up to $25,817.00 in the
implementation and operation of the County's portion of the Statewide crime
victim notification service and authorizing the execution of a renewal
Services Agreement Renewals Notice Agreement with the certified Texas VINE
vendor, Appriss, Inc. After due discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner Eddy Lange, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese,
the Court unanimously approved this matter.
Agenda #10 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #232/07: Judge Jon Burrows presented the
claims for review to the Court. After proper review, upon motion
of Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Richard
Cortese,
the Court unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a
copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the
workshop agenda with no action being
taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
