Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #297/07: It being nine a.m.,
Judge Jon Burrows called the regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court
to order and called to the Courts attention that the minutes of July 23,
2007, regular session had been received. After due discussion, these
minutes were approved as presented.
Agenda #2a - Interlocal Agreement with City of
Holland
- MINUTE ORDER #298/07: County Engineer Richard
Macchi
presented for approval an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Holland for
the reconstruction of Holland School-Hackberry Road. After due discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by
Commissioner Tim Brown, the Court unanimously approved this matter.
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #299/07: Upon motion of
Commissioner John Fisher, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange, the
Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being
attached hereto and made a part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Berneta Peeples Day in Bell County, Texas
- MINUTE ORDER #300/07: Judge Jon Burrows presented
the adoption of Order Proclaiming Saturday, August 4, 2007, as Berneta
Peeples Day in Bell County, Texas, in honor of her 90th birthday and in
recognition of her years of reporting on Bell County Commissioner's Court
for the Belton Journal. After due discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner Tim Brown,
the Court unanimously approved this matter.
Agenda #5 - Appointment to the Bell County Child
Welfare Board
- MINUTE ORDER #301/07: Judge Jon Burrows
presented for approval the Appointment of Gloria Jean (Jeannie) Pittman
of Belton to the Bell County Child Welfare Board. After due discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner Eddy Lange, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese,
the Court unanimously approved this appointment.
Agenda #6 - Certificates of Obligation
- MINUTE ORDER #302/07: After due discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese,
with a vote of 4 in favor and Commissioner John Fisher abstaining,
the Court approved the adoption of Order authorizing the issuance of
$6,100,000 Bell County, Texas, Combination Tax and Revenue Certificates of
Obligation Series 2007; Authorizing a Paying Agent/Registrar Agreement; and
Ordaining Certain Other Matters Relating to the Issuance of the
Certificates.
Agenda #7 - Change Order Number 006 with Skanska USA
Building, Inc.
- MINUTE ORDER #303/07: After due discussion, upon
motion by
Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner John Fisher,
the Court unanimously approved Change Order Number 006 with Skanska USA
Building, Inc. for the Bell County Annex & Sheriff 's Office Building in the
amount of $2,225.00.
Agenda #8 - Update on Bell County Flooding Damage and
Disaster Services
- MINUTE ORDER #304/07: Dennis Baker, Director of
Emergency Management Services for Bell County presented an update to the
Court regarding Bell County Flooding Damage and Disaster Assistance status.
He advised FEMA's Mobile Disaster Unit accepted applications from 217 Bell
County families while in Salado, Texas, July 24-26,2007. A second
visit to Bell County is scheduled for August 19, 2007. No action was
taken.
Agenda #9 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #305/07: Judge Jon Burrows presented the
claims for review to the Court. After proper review, upon motion
of Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Richard
Cortese,
the Court unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a
copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the
workshop agenda with no action being
taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
