Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #121/08: It being nine a.m.,
County Judge Jon Burrows, called the regular meeting of the
Commissioners' Court to order and called to the Courts attention that the
minutes of March 17, 2008, regular session had been received. After
due discussion, these
minutes were approved as presented.
Agenda #2a - County Engineer
- MINUTE ORDER #122/08: County Engineer Richard Macchi presented for approval
the final plat of Schwake Addition, a One-Lot, 6 acre Subdivision off of F.M.
2115. After due discussion,
upon motion by
Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner John Fisher, the
Court unanimously approved this matter.
Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #123/08: Upon motion by Commissioner
Eddy Lange, second
by Commissioner Tim Brown, the Court unanimously approved
all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made
part of these minutes.
Agenda #4 - Road Hand Award from Texas Department of
Transportation
- MINUTE ORDER #124/08: After due discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner John Fisher, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese,
the Court recognized Pct 2 commissioner Tim Brown fro his receipt of the
Road Hand Award from the Texas Department of Transportation. The award
was in recognition of his service at the state and national level in
transportation planning, including being a member of the Texas
Transportation Work Group that developed the state's first set of
comprehensive transportation goals and for providing leadership in the North
American's SuperCorridor Coalition, as well as for his work on the
Killeen-Temple Metropolitan Planning Organization. The Road Hand Award
was established in 1973 as the highest tribute that TxDOT can give to
public-spirited citizens who championed transportation projects for their
area. Over the past 35 years, 212 people have been so honored.
Commissioner Brown is only the second person from Bell County to receive the
award. The other recipient was former Temple City Manager H.K. Dodgen
for whom Loop 363 was named. Commissioner Brown's name will be
inscribed on the Road Hand Hall of Honor plaque that hangs in the historic
Dewitt C. Greer Highway Building (TxDOT Headquarters) in Austin.
Agenda #5 - Phase 2 Consulting
- MINUTE ORDER #125/08: After due
discussion, upon motion by
Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese,
the Court unanimously approved the next phases of contract with Phase 2 consulting for
development of RFQ or other methods to identify medical services provider to
supply services
to the expanded and current jail facilities and to provide technical
assistance in identifying and evaluating qualified suppliers. No
action taken.
Agenda #6 - Order Restricting Outdoor Burning
- MINUTE ORDER #126/08: The Court received a
report from Fire Marshall Steve Casey, a copy of which is attached and made
a part of these minutes, to consider status of Order Restricting Outdoor
burning and consider continuation, modification, extension, or termination
of the Order and a finding that circumstances are present in all or part of
the unincorporated area that create a public safety hazard that would be
exacerbated by outdoor burning. Current Burn Ban expires on April 16,
2008. No action taken.
Agenda #7 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #127/08: County Judge Jon
Burrows
presented the claims for review to the Court. After proper review, upon motion by
Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese,
the Court unanimously approved all such claims. All according to a
copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.
(The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the
workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
