AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 19th day of May, 2008, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #208/08:  County Judge Jon Burrows, called to the Courts attention that the minutes of May 12, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. regular session, and May 15, 2008, 3:00 p.m. emergency session had been received.  After due discussion, these minutes were approved as presented.



  2. Agenda #2a - County Engineer

    • MINUTE ORDER #209/08:   County Engineer Richard Macchi advised the Court that a notice for public hearing to be held May 19, 2008, for a traffic control device had been published in the Killeen Daily Herald on May 4, 2008.  County Judge Jon Burrows opened the public hearing at 9:06 a.m.  There being no public comments, the public hearing was closed.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner John Fisher, second by Commissioner Tim Brown, the Court unanimously approved the installation of a STOP sign at the intersection of Honeysuckle Drive at Walnut Drive, Walnut Creek Subdivision.  
          


  3. Agenda #2b - Public Hearing - Iron Bridge Lane

    • MINUTE ORDER #210/08:    County Judge Jon Burrows opened a public hearing  at 9:09 a.m. regarding the Abandonment/Vacation of approximately 570' of Iron Bridge Lane.  There being no public comments, the public hearing was closed.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner John Fisher, second by Commissioner Tim Brown, the Court unanimously approved this matter.
          


  4. Agenda #2c - Schumacher Subdivision II

    • MINUTE ORDER #211/08:   County Engineer Richard Macchi presented for final approval Schumacher Subdivision II, being an amended plat of Lots 4 and 7 of Block 1 in the Schumacher Subdivision.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange, the Court unanimously approved this matter.
          


  5. Agenda #2d - Report on May 14, 2008 Bell County Storm Clean-up

    • MINUTE ORDER #212/08:   County Engineer Richard Macchi presented an update to the Court on debris removal and clean-up from the May 14, 2008, Bell County storm.  No action taken.
          


  6. Agenda #3 - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #213/08:    Upon motion by Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made part of these minutes.



  7. Agenda #4 - Portrait of Judge John Danley

    • MINUTE ORDER #214/08:   After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner Tim Brown, the Court unanimously approved the acceptance from John Galure of a portrait of his great grandfather, Judge John Danley, who was the first Chief Justice of Bell County, with the portrait having been done by University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Professor Hershall Seals and UMHB student Courtney Woodliff.       



  8. Agenda #5 - Bell County Radiation Officer Appointment

    • MINUTE ORDER #215/08:  County Judge Jon Burrows presented for approval the designation of Deputy Daryl Coleman as Bell County Radiation Officer and authorizing County Judge to make successor designations of qualified personnel as appropriate.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner John Fisher, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange, the Court unanimously approved this matter. 



  9. Agenda #6 -  Phase 2 Consulting Proposal

    • MINUTE ORDER #216/08:   After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Eddy Lange, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese, the Court unanimously approved the proposal of Phase 2 Consulting to provide consulting services, including operations assessments/recommendations of the Bell County Juvenile Detention Center operations, processes, and procedures.  A copy of said Proposal is attached hereto and made part of these minutes.
          


  10. Agenda #7 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #217/08:   County Judge Jon Burrows presented the claims for review to the Court.  After proper review, upon motion by Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.



  11.         (The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the workshop agenda with no action being
             taken on any item.)


             There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
