AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 16th day of June, 2008, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #251/08:  County Judge Jon Burrows, called to the Courts attention that the minutes of June 9, 2008, 9:00 a.m. regular session had been received.  After due discussion, these minutes were approved as presented.



  2. Agenda #2a - County Engineer

    • MINUTE ORDER #252/08:   County Engineer Richard Macchi presented for approval and budget amendment a proposal to install a water line and fire hydrant at the old Precinct 4 barn on FM 2410 in Killeen.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner John Fisher, the Court unanimously approved this matter.
          


  3. Agenda #2b - 3662 Canyon Heights, Belton Lake Estates

    • MINUTE ORDER #253/08:    County Engineer Richard Macchi presented for approval a request for a variance by Omega Builders for the encroachment into a utility easement of a home built at 3662 Canyon Heights (Lot 12, Block 9), Belton Lake Estates.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner Tim Brown, the Court unanimously approved this matter.  
          


  4. Agenda #2c - Bell County Landfill Brush Chipping Proposal

    • MINUTE ORDER #254/08:    County Engineer Richard Macchi presented for approval a proposal for the chipping of storm debris from the recent storms deposited at the Bell County Landfill from Austin Land Service/Austin Wood Recycling.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese, the Court unanimously approved the contract with the deletion of the haul-off option for an additional cost of $4,400.  A copy of said proposal is attached hereto and made part of these minutes.  
          


  5. Agenda #3 - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #255/08:    Upon motion by Commissioner John Fisher, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made part of these minutes.



  6. Agenda #4 - Salado Men's Baseball and Golf Teams

    • MINUTE ORDER #256/08:   County Judge Jon Burrows presented to the Court a Resolution and recognized the Salado Men's Baseball and Golf Teams for winning the Texas Class AA State Championships and declaring Monday, June 16, 2008, as Salado Eagles Day in Bell County, Texas.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange, the Court unanimously approved this matter.  A copy of said Resolution is attached hereto and made part of these minutes.           



  7. Agenda #5 - Bids for Fiber Installation

    • MINUTE ORDER #257/08:   After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Eddy Lange, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese, the Court unanimously approved authorizing the County Auditor to advertise for bids for the installation of fiber at the new jail addition and at the Temple CSCD building.            



  8. Agenda #6 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #258/08:   County Judge Jon Burrows presented the claims for review to the Court.  After proper review, upon motion by Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.



  9.         (The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the workshop agenda with no action being
             taken on any item.)


             There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
