August 11, 2008


AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 11th day of August, 2008, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #333/08:  County Judge Jon Burrows called to the Courts attention that the minutes of August 4, 2008, 9:00 a.m. regular session had been received.  After due discussion, these minutes were approved as presented.



  2. Agenda #2a - County Engineer

    • MINUTE ORDER #334/08:   County Engineer Richard Macchi presented for approval the final plat for Voges Subdivision, a One-Lot, 0.5 Acre Subdivision off of Stag Road.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange, the Court unanimously approved this matter. 
          


  3. Agenda #2b - Letter of Credit no. 50000001130 - Shiloh Terrace, Phase 3

    • MINUTE ORDER #335/08:    County Engineer Richard Macchi presented for approval releasing Letter of Credit No. 50000001130, Extraco Bank, in the amount of $13,500 as Warranty Improvements in Shiloh Terrace, Phase 3.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange, the Court unanimously approved this matter. 
          


  4. Agenda #2c - Bid for Hot Mix Overlay for Exposition Center Parking Lot

    • MINUTE ORDER #336/08:   After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner John Fisher, the Court unanimously approved awarding the bid for the hot mix overlay of the Exposition Center parking lot to Wheeler Coatings of Belton, Texas in the amount of $663,325.
          


  5. Agenda #3 - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #337/08:    Upon motion by Commissioner John Fisher, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange, the Court unanimously approved all employee status report forms, the same being attached hereto and made part of these minutes.



  6. Agenda #4 - Setting Dates for Presentation of the FY 2009 Budget, Public Hearings and Approval of the Budget and Tax Rates

    • MINUTE ORDER #338/08:   Judge Jon Burrows re-announced the following dates for the presentation of the FY 2009 Budget, Public Hearings and approval of the Budget and Tax Rates, with all meetings to be in the Commissioners' Courtroom:
              1.  August 13, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., for the first Public Hearing on the Tax Rates;
              2.  August 18, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., for the presentation of the Budget, the Public Hearing on the Budget, and
                   the second Public Hearing on the Tax Rates;
              3.  August 25, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., for the approval of the Budget and approval of the Tax Rates.
      No action taken. 



  7. Agenda #5 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #339/08:   County Judge Jon Burrows presented the claims for review to the Court.  After proper review, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner John Fisher, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.



  8.         (The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the workshop agenda with no action being
             taken on any item.)


             There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
