AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on this the 5th day of January, 2009, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas, met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the following members of said Court present, to-wit:

  1. Agenda #1 - Minutes

    • MINUTE ORDER #008/09:  County Judge Jon Burrows called to the Courts attention that the minutes of December 22, 2008, 9:00 a.m. regular session and January 2, 2009 special regular session had been received.  After due discussion, these minutes were approved as presented.



  2. Agenda #2a - County Engineer

    • MINUTE ORDER #009/09:   County Engineer Richard Macchi presented for approval awarding the bid for the purchase of a small motor grader and the sale/trade-in of a 1994 model Caterpillar 12-G motor grader to Holt Cat in the amount of $121,900, less trade-in of $55,000 for a net cost of $66,900.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner John Fisher, the Court unanimously approved this matter.
          


  3. Agenda #3 - Personnel

    • MINUTE ORDER #010/09:   No action taken.
          


  4. Agenda #4 - Bell County Public Health District Appointment

    • MINUTE ORDER #011/09:    County Judge John Burrows presented for approval the appointment and introduction of Lisa Cornelius, M.D. as the Health Authority for the Bell County Public Health District.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Eddy Lange, second by Commissioner John Fisher, the Court unanimously approved this appointment.



  5. Agenda #5 - Order Restricting Outdoor Burning - Burn Ban

    • MINUTE ORDER #012/09:   County Judge Jon Burrows presented for approval the matter of the termination, modification, or continuation of the Order Restricting Outdoor Burning - Burn Ban set to expire at 10:00 a.m. on January 26, 2009.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner John Fisher, the Court approved lifting the Order for 72 hours effectively immediately through sundown, Wednesday, January 7, 2009.



  6. Agenda #6 - Livestock Panels for the EXPO Center

    • MINUTE ORDER #013/09:   County Judge Jon Burrows presented for approval the purchase of 60 livestock panels for the EXPO Center in the amount of $28,912.00 from bingo proceeds by sole source pursuant to the discretionary exemptions in Section 262.024 (a)(7) of the Local Government Code.  After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner John Fisher, the Court unanimously approved this matter. 
          


  7. Agenda #7 - Open House for New Jail Addition

    • MINUTE ORDER #014/09:   County Judge Jon Burrows re-announced the Open House for the new Jail Addition to be Saturday, January 17, 2009, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Jail Site on Loop 121, in Belton, Texas.  No action taken. 


       
  8. Agenda #8 - Claims

    • MINUTE ORDER #015/09:   County Judge Jon Burrows presented the claims for review to the Court.  After proper review, upon motion by Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner Richard Cortese, the Court unanimously approved all such claims.  All according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County Auditor.


             (The Court then went into workshop session to discuss those items on the workshop agenda with no action being taken on any item.)


             There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
