AFTER proper posting of public notice, a copy of which is attached hereto, on
this the 10th day of May, 2010, the County Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas,
met in the Commissioners' Courtroom in Belton, Texas, in regular session with the

Agenda #1 - Minutes
- MINUTE ORDER #174/10:
County Judge Jon Burrows called to the Courts attention that the minutes
of May 3rd, 2010, 9:00 a.m. regular sessions had been received. After due
discussion, these minutes were approved as presented.
Agenda #2a - County Engineer
- MINUTE ORDER #175/10:
County Engineer Bryan Neaves presented for approval awarding the
following bids for equipment using funds from 2007 Certificates of
Obligations: 1) After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner
John Fisher, the bid for a 2000 gallon water tank was awarded to Smith
Tank & Equipment, Tyler, Texas, in the amount of $13,150. (2)
After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner
Richard Cortese, the bid for two Utility Tractors with cabs was awarded
to Holt Cat of Waco, Texas in the amount of $57,200. (3) After due
discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Eddy Lange, second by Commissioner
John Fisher, the bid for two Zero Turning Lawnmowers was awarded to
Georgetown Outdoor Power, Georgetown, Texas, in the amount of $13,200.
(4) After due discussion, upon motion by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner
Eddy Lange, the bid for two Dump Trucks 5-6 yards was awarded to
Longhorn International of Temple in the amount of $138,865.62.

Agenda #2b- County Engineer
- MINUTE ORDER #176/10:
County Engineer Bryan Neaves presented for approval awarding the bid for
Culvert Pipes to Wilson Culverts, Elkhart, Texas, in the amount of
$113,177.50. After due discussion, upon motion
by Commissioner Richard Cortese, second by Commissioner Tim Brown,
the Court unanimously approved this matter.

Agenda #3 - Personnel
- MINUTE ORDER #177/10: Upon motion
by Commissioner John Fisher, second by Commissioner Eddy Lange,
the Court approved all employee status report forms, the
same being attached hereto and made a part of these minutes. Commissioner Richard Cortese
abstained from the vote.

Agenda #4 - Annual Police Memorial Day
- MINUTE ORDER #178/10: County Judge
Jon Burrows announced the annual Police Memorial Day Ceremony to be
held Friday, May 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. on the North lawn of the
Historic Bell County Courthouse Square. No action taken by the Court.

Agenda #5 - National Police Week in Bell County
- MINUTE ORDER #179/10: County Judge
Jon Burrows recognized Sheriff Dan Smith and approved a Proclamation
designating the week of May 9th through May 15, 2010, to be National
Police Week in Bell County and for May 15th, 2010 to be Peace Officers
Memorial Day in Bell County. Sheriff Smith announced that there
were 116 officers nationally, and 12 officers in Texas killed in 2009.
After due discussion, upon motion
by Commissioner John Fisher, second by Commissioner Tim Brown,
the Court unanimously approved this matter.

Agenda #6 - 2009 Gold Star Safety Award
- MINUTE ORDER #180/10: County Judge
Jon Burrows announced Bell County's receipt of a 2009 Gold Star
Safety Award from the Texas Association of Counties for its record of
excellence in involvement and commitment to safety in the workplace, as
well as for controlling workers' compensation claims, with Bell County
being one of only nine counties in Texas to receive the 2009 Gold Star
Award, and recognized the Bell County Safety Committee for its efforts
in making Bell County a safe place to work. No action taken by the
Court.
Agenda #7 - Claims
- MINUTE ORDER #181/10: County Judge Jon
Burrows presented the claims for review to the Court. After
proper review, upon
motion by Commissioner Tim Brown, second by Commissioner
Richard Cortese, the Court unanimously approved all such claims. All
according to a copy of the same being of record in the office of the County
Auditor.
County Judge
Jon Burrows announced that the Bell County Commissioner's Court will
exercise the right to go into executive session at 9:24 a.m. regarding
personnel matters permitted by the Texas Open Meetings Act. The
executive session ended at 10:12 a.m. with no action taken.
(The Court then went into
workshop session to discuss those items on the workshop agenda with no action
being taken on any item.)
There being no further business, the meeting
adjourned.
