This trunk introduces students to the importance of quilts in the lives of Texans, past and present. Many subjects can be incorporated in studying quilts, including history, art, home economics, social issues, math, and even environmental concerns (recycling fabrics). This trunk also allows students to develop knowledge of and appreciation for the function of quilts, quiltmaking as an art form, and the process involved in the construction of quilts.
