Bell County Burn Ban Lifted

September 14, 2009 (Bell County, Texas) -  The Bell County Burn Ban has been lifted indefinitely as of Monday, September 14, 2009.  For additional information, please contact Steve Casey, Bell County Fire Marshall at 254-933-5589.

Citizens are reminded that Texas Commission on Environmental Quality rules still apply to any burning, such as no burning is to begin sooner than one hour after sunrise and must be completed on the same day no later than one hour before sunset.  The fire must be attended by a responsible person at all times during the active burning phase, and burning cannot begin when the wind speed is predicted to be less than 6 miles per hour or more than 23 miles per hour during the burn period.

Citizens are urged to use extreme caution and responsible judgment.
