About Bell County

Bell County is centrally located along  the
I-35 corridor.  Bell County is serviced by two major railroads and offers state-of-the art medical facilities, several excellent colleges, and a large regional airport, all of which make it a great choice to call home.  Bell County is home to Fort Hood.  With a capacity of 50,000 troops, it is one of the largest military installations in the free world.  The 2010 Census put Bell County's population at 310,325 - the 16th largest of Texas' 254 counties.  Bell County grew by 30.4% from 2000 to 2010.  The 2012 population is estimated to be over 315,000, and it continues to grow, fueling a strong and stable economy.

County Spotlight

The Bell County Youth Fair Scholarship Committee is proud to announce the 10 recipients of scholarships totaling $50,000 awarded to local high school seniors. These students represent the top applicants of the numerous students that participated in the Bell County Youth Fair. The Bell County Youth Fair Association hosts thousands of projects by local 4-H, FFA, and FCCLA youth annually in the competitive events.  The scholarships are the culmination of years of hard work by the hundreds of volunteers who annually host the Youth Fair Livestock Show.
