The County Tax
Assessor-Collector is the Voter Registrar for Bell County. As soon as you establish
residence in Bell County, you are qualified to register to vote in Bell County.
Other requirements for voter registration include minimum age of 18 (you may register within 2 months of your 18th
birthday). You must be a United States
citizen. You may not register to vote if you have been declared mentally
incapacitated or if you have been convicted of a felony crime unless that disability has
been removed. You regain the right to vote after you complete your sentence or
probation. Voter registration applications are available at any of our full service locations. They are also
available at area libraries, Department of Public Safety and Texas
Department of Human Services offices. You may write or call us for an application by
mail. You may also request a voter registration application below. Your voter registration is valid as long as
you notify us of your current address. If you move within Bell County please contact
our office so we can update your records. Voter registration must be completed at
least thirty days prior to an election for your registration to be effective for that
election. New voter registration certificates are mailed every two years (in November of odd numbered years). If you move out of Bell County, contact the Voter
Registrar in your new county/state of residence. |

Qualifications
- You must register to vote in the county in which you reside.
- You must be a citizen of the United States.
- You must be at least 17 years and 10 months old to register, and you
must be 18 years of age by election day.
- You must not be finally convicted of a felony, or if you are a
felon, you must have completed all of your punishment, including any
term of incarceration, parole, supervision, period of probation, or you
must have received a pardon
Identification Requirement
If you do not have a Texas driver's license or a social security
number, you will be required to present identification when you vote in
person or enclose a copy of such identification with your ballot if you
vote by mail. Identification includes: a current and valid ID; a
copy of a current utility bill; bank statement; government check;
paycheck; or other government document that shows your name and address.
General Information
- Your voter registration will become effective 30 days after it is
received or on your 18th birthday, whichever is later. Your
registration must be effective on or before an election in order to vote
in that election.
- If you move to another county, you must re-register in the county of
your new residence.
- You must provide your Texas driver's license or personal
identification number. Only when you do not have a driver's license or
personal identification number, then give the last four digits of your
social security number or if you do not have any of these identification
numbers, then you must indicate by checking the appropriate box on the
application side.

To fill out a Voter Registration
Application on-line,
click here. You will be directed to the Secretary of the State
webpage. After answering the first question, fill out the form
completely and press submit. You will need to print your
application, sign and date it; then mail the application to your Local
Voter Registration Office. The address is printed on the form.
