Voter Registration



The County Tax Assessor-Collector is the Voter Registrar for Bell County.  As soon as you establish residence in Bell County, you are qualified to register to vote in Bell County.   Other requirements for voter registration include minimum age of 18 (you may register within 2 months of your 18th birthday).  You must be a United States citizen.  You may not register to vote if you have been declared mentally incapacitated or if you have been convicted of a felony crime unless that disability has been removed.  You regain the right to vote after you complete your sentence or probation.  Voter registration applications are available at any of our full service locations They are also available at area libraries, Department of Public Safety and Texas Department of Human Services offices.  You may write or call us for an application by mail.  You may also request a voter registration application by e-mail below.  Your voter registration is valid as long as you notify us of your current address.  If you move within Bell County please contact our office so we can update your records.  Voter registration must be completed at least thirty days prior to an election for your registration to be effective for that election.   New voter registration certificates are mailed every two years (in November of odd numbered years).  If you move out of Bell County, contact the Voter Registrar in your new county/state of residence.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING APPLICATION FOR VOTER REGISTRATION



  1. Complete Questions - Answer the check box questions located at the top-middle right.  These include whether this card is for a new registration, for a change of registration, or for a replacement of registration.  The questions also ask if you are a United States Citizen, 18 years of age before the election day, and if you are interested in serving as an election worker.  Continue to the part below to complete application. 
  2. Name - Give your full name including Last, First, Middle, and Former Name (if applicable). 
  3. Residence Address- Include street address, apartment number (if applicable), city, state, and zip code.  If you do not have a street address, give a description of the location of where you live.  (Do not include P.O. Box or Rural Rt.)
  4. Mailing Address - Include Address, City, State, and Zip.  (If mail cannot be delivered to your residence address).
  5. Date of Birth -  Give the Month, Day, Year you were born.
  6. Gender -  This is optional.  Check whether you are Male or Female.
  7. Tx Driver's License No. or Personal I.D. No. -  Give your Texas Driver's License Number or a Personal I.D. Number (issued by the Department of Public Safety).  If you have neither one, give the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.  IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE ID'S MENTIONED ABOVE, CHECK THE BOX BELOW STATING THE SAME.
  8. Telephone Number  -  This is optional.  Give your Telephone Number including the area code. 
  9. Sign Your Name - Read the affirmations, Date and Sign the Registration Card.
