Notice of Workshop Session of 
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas 
for MAY 17, 2004

Notice is hereby given that a Workshop Session of the Commissioners Court will be held at immediately after the regular Commissioners Court Meeting in the Commissioners Court Conference Room, County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, Belton, Texas, Courtroom, were the following items will be discussed, but no action will be taken.

  1. Jail/District Court/Sheriff's office planning, architect conferences, presentations to public, bond election results & funding issues.

  2. Architect planning & Construction Manager Request for Proposals evaluation.

  3. Interview sessions on Tuesday, May 18, 2004 beginning at 8:30 a.m. for jail/courts project construction manager selection. 

  4. Review of qualifications and proceeding with step two for Request for Proposals for construction manager for small construction projects for tax-assessor's office, document storage building and communications center.  

  5. Review of 2nd quarter investment report and discussion on long-term investment alternatives.

  6. Help America Vote Act and election voting devices. 

  7. Restructuring of Texas Health and Human Services.

  8. DPS Warrant Data Bank and Omni Contract.

  9. Emergency Response Collaborative Grant involving TISD and BISD.

  10. EXPO/Youth Fair Projects and proposed funding through bingo monies.

  11. Interlocal Agreement with Clearwater Water Conservation District. 

  12. Update of EMS Service Contract & other issues with Scott & White Hospital.

  13. Towing Fees and Regulation. 

  14. Family Outreach Funding and Staffing status. 

  15. Telecommunications tax questions. 

  16. Response to questions from Committee on Intergovernmental Relations on developing local economy. 

  17. Engineering and road issues; accident updates.

  18. Engineering equipment needs review. 

  19. Bell County Subdivision Regulations.

  20. TxDOT hearings and meetings. 

  21. Regional Mobility Authorities.

  22. Fire Marshal two-year statutory appointment procedure and performance review.

  23. Fire Marshal/Emergency Management Office and upcoming exercises and grants.

  24. Bell County Communications Center equipment, staffing, personnel, and FCC issues.

  25. County Information Resources Agency (CIRA) Project status.

  26. County Indigent Health Care Fraud Policy.

  27. County Indigent Health Care Program appropriations update and effects on Bell County.

  28. Indigent burials and related issues regarding indigent death procedures.

  1. Kings Daughters Association annual luncheon Monday, May 17, 2004 at noon at Wildflower Country Club in Temple.     
     
  2. TxDOT meeting on Trans Texas Corridor and I-35 Monday, May 17, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Temple Library. 

  3. Construction Manager interviews beginning Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at 8:30 a.m. in Commissioners Conference Room.
