Notice of Workshop Session of 
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas 
for MAY 31, 2005

Notice is hereby given that a Workshop Session of the Commissioners Court will be held immediately after the regular Commissioners Court Meeting in the Commissioners Court Conference Room, County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, Belton, Texas, where the following items will be discussed, but no action will be taken.

  1. District Court/Sheriff's office/Jail planning, architect conferences, Texas Commission on Jail Standards reviews & updates, financing timetable and alternatives.

  2. Architect planning & Construction Manager at Risk planning/updates; Subcontractor review/approval.

  3. LEPC update.

  4. Budget requests from non-county departments.

  5. Health and dental insurance review of proposals to other entities and projections.

  6. Bell County Jail Population Management Meeting summary. 

  7. Draft of Invitation to Bid for purchase of Medical Services for the Correctional Facility. 

  8. City of Belton, TxDOT, architect and construction manager discussions on site development, platting/zoning, entrances, and construction/design issues.

  9. City of Belton road closing, parking, and access easement issues on development of coop gin site and other Belton issues.

  10. Trinity Engineering proposal concerning road use and project plans.

  11. Issue of false alarm problems in Texas and proposed regulation of installers.

  12. City of Belton USDA grant for construction of sewer line under Loop 121 near EXPO.

  13. Memorandum of Understanding for Pilot Interoperable Communications Program Among McLennan, Bell and Coryell Counties and Associated Agencies.

  14. Legislation to create 5th District Court. 

  15. Legislation in support of Texas A & M - Central Texas. 

  16. HIPAA Security Rule deadline status for compliance. 

  17. Centro Vision proposal regarding rural cities tie in to City of Temple and then to Communications Center.

  18. Proposal regarding rural areas involving Broadband and BellNET.

  20. Update on TxDOT information on information/meetings/planning regarding the Trans-Texas Corridor, Loop 363, I-35, US 190, and related projects.

  24. Engineering and road issues; accident updates; abandonment of road easement.

  25. Engineering equipment needs review, financing options, and trading-in of equipment for new purchases.

  28. Proposed legislation and input on effect on counties. 

  29. State of Texas Radio Communications Interoperability Plan update.

  30. Jail population status, population management, jail leasing alternatives/costs, and state prison overcrowding notification.
