Notice of Workshop Session of 
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas 
for October 24, 2005

Notice is hereby given that a Workshop Session of the Commissioners Court will be held immediately after the regular Commissioners Court Meeting, or at 9:00 a.m. if there is no meeting, in the Commissioners Court Conference Room, County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, Belton, Texas, where the following items will be discussed, but no action will be taken.

  1. District Court/Sheriff's office/Jail planning, architect conferences, Texas Commission on Jail Standards reviews & updates, financing timetable and alternatives.

  2. Architect planning & Construction Manager at Risk planning/updates; Subcontractor review/approval.

  3. Jail population status, population management, jail leasing alternatives/costs, and state prison overcrowding notification.

  4. EXPO Center modifications and financial planning and alternatives. 

  5. Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita assistance, reimbursement efforts, after-action reports, and planning for recognition event for volunteers.

  6. Museum expansion update, design, costs estimates and other museum issues. 

  7. Court costs and fees collection methods/contracts, including Linnebarger and Omni contracts. 

  8. Court e-filing proposals and details of implementation. 

  9. County Clerk's office processes/proposals and vacancy in office issues. 

  10. Boy Scout flag pole project at North Annex in Belton.

  13. Draft of Invitation to Bid for purchase of Medical Services for the Correctional Facility.

  14. City of Belton, TxDOT, architect and construction manager discussions on site development, platting/zoning, entrances, and construction/design issues.

  15. City of Belton road closing, parking, and access easement issues on development of coop gin site and other Belton issues.

  16. BellNET update, planning and future objectives/staffing/budget.

  17. Update on TxDOT information on information/meetings/planning regarding the Trans-Texas Corridor, Loop 363, I-35, US 190, and related projects.

  18. Update on Public Power Pool agreements and renewal issues.

  19. Regional Mobility Authorities.

  20. Indigent Defense Task Force update.

  21. Engineering and road issues; accident updates; abandonment of road easement.

  22. Engineering equipment needs review, financing options, and trading-in of equipment for new purchases.

  24. State of Texas Radio Communications Interoperability Plan update.

  27. Update on Capital Projects projections.

  28. Interlocal Agreement with Clearwater Water Conservation District.

  29. Update of EMS Service Contract & other issues with Scott & White Hospital.

  30. Fire Marshall two-year statutory appointment procedure and performance review. 

  31. Fire Marshall/Emergency Management Office, burn ban evaluation/status, fire investigations, upcoming exercises, grants, and Annexes to Plans.

  32. Bell County Communications Center equipment, staffing and personnel.

  33. County Indigent Health Care Program appropriations update and effects on Bell County and the providing of services to other counties.
