Notice of Workshop Session of 
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas 
for April 02, 2007

Notice is hereby given that a Workshop Session of the Commissioners Court  and the Board of the Bell County Health Facilities Development Corporation will be held immediately after the regular Commissioners Court Meeting, or at 9:00 a.m. if there is no meeting, in the Commissioners Court Conference Room, County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, Belton, Texas, where the following items will be discussed, but no action will be taken.

  1. District Court/Sheriff's office/Jail planning, architect conferences, Texas Commission on Jail Standards reviews & updates, financing timetable and alternatives; coordination with TxDOT on signage; liquidated damages calculations and amounts.

  2. Architect planning & Construction Manager at Risk planning/updates; Subcontractor review/approval; wage-rate issues; card-access locations; guaranteed maximum price calculations/approval. 

  3. Jail population status, population management, jail leasing alternatives/costs, financing considerations, and state prison overcrowding notification, and JP coverage.

  4. Attorney General Opinion GA-0519 and SB 2061.

  5. May 2007 Election.

  6. Proposed legislation on e-mail balloting for soldiers (HB 17).

  3. Press Conference for ACT (Action Central Texas) concerning child abuse prevention in Central Texas at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 in Commissioners Courtroom on the Second Floor of the Historic County Courthouse in Belton.
     
  4. Opening Ceremonies of the new Harker Heights Police Department building at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 402 Indian Trail in Harker Heights.
     
  5. Conference of Urban Counties luncheon meeting at noon on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the Doubletree Guest Suites Hotel at 15th & Lavaca in Austin.
