Notice of Workshop Session of 
the Commissioners Court of Bell County, Texas 
for January 20, 2009

Notice is hereby given that a Workshop Session of the Commissioners Court will be held immediately after the regular Commissioners Court Meeting, or at 9:00 a.m. if there is no meeting, in the Commissioners Court Conference Room, County Courthouse, 2nd Floor, Belton, Texas, where the following items will be discussed, but no action will be taken.

  1. Bell County Jail/Courthouse Construction Status Updates.

    1. Jail addition transition plan for occupancy.
    2. Review and status of change proposal log and punch list.
    3. Multi-Purpose Building design status.
    4. County Courts at Law Building design/GMP status.
    5. Negotiation update on contractor for County Courts at Law Building.
       
  2. Project Management priorities and projects.

    1. Phase 2 Consulting & selection team next phase on jail/juvenile medical/dental services, and selection/implementation.
    2. Implementation of policy for inmate payment or co-payment of medical care while incarcerated and deduction from commissary account.
    3. Strategic Capital Improvement Project Plan and Policy.
       
  3. Juvenile Probation Department.

    1. Modifications to Juvenile Facility design.
    2. Phase 2 Consulting project with Juvenile Detention Center.

    4. City of Killeen proposed Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Number Two.
    5. Federal credit/financial developments and investment report by Treasurer.
       
  8. Social Services Updates.

    1. HOP services in Bell County & HCTD Board expansion.
    2. Bell County Needs Survey.
    3. Joint program with the City of Temple on Home Help Project.
    4. Update on Community Health Assessment. 
       
  9. Personnel and Human Resources - PR Bond Department Updates.

    1. NACo prescription drug plan distribution of prescription cards.

    Bell County Commissioners Court reserves the right to discuss any items in executive (closed) session whenever permitted by the Texas Open Meetings Act.

  5. Workforce Development Board monthly board meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Workforce Building in Killeen.
     
  6. Central Texas Council of Governments monthly board meeting at noon on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the CTCOG Building on North Main in Belton.
     
  7. Hill Country Transit District board meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the CTCOG Building on North Main in Belton.
     
  8. Reception for new Director of the Belton Economic Development Corporation at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Harris Community Center in Belton. 
     
  9. Meet the Elected Officials dinner with the Salado Area Republican Women at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Civic Center in Salado.
     
  10. Temple Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Frank Mayborn Civic Center in Temple.
