Community Service is a community based program in which juveniles go into the community under the supervision of Bell County Juvenile Probation Personnel to complete various type of service. Juveniles are assigned to Community Services through Deferred Prosecution or Orders by the Court.
The Service that is performed is for Non-profit agencies that have been approved by the Juvenile Board. The types of service consist of, but are not limited to, picking up trash; painting buildings, trains, and trash cans; cleaning up general areas; creating trails; and donating food. At present the agencies that are involved in the program consist of Parks and Recreations (Temple, Belton, Harker Heights and Killeen), March of Dimes, United Way, Food Pantries (Churches Touching Lives for Christ, Helping Hands Ministry and Killeen Care Center), and Texas Department of Transportation.
