Filing and Fees
Fees Effective 9/1/2017
The base fees for filing a case in Bell County are as follows:
- Civil $262.00
- Divorce $268.00
- All Other Family $253.00

The District Clerk's Office allows instruments to be filed in three methods:
- In Person by Pro-se Litigants
- Via Mail by Pro-se Litigants
- Through eFiling
Litigants In Person: The Bell County District Clerk's Office is open from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Filings are accepted until 4:30pm.
If a filing fee is required (refer to breakdown of filing fees), the following methods of payment are accepted:Cash (the District Clerk's Office does not provide change, exact amounts are requested) Money Order Cashier's Check Credit Card (Master Card, Visa, American Express) A service charge applies
Via Mail: All filings should be mailed to: Joanna Staton Bell County District Clerk Attn: Civil Clerk P.O. Box 909 Belton, TX 76513. For filings that require payment of fees, do not send cash. Please refer to breakdown of filing fees for payment required. Filings that do not include the correct payment will be returned.

Upon your request, the District Clerk's Office will make copies of documents at a cost of $1.00 per page. This will be helpful when a copy of a document is required for citation. The District Clerk's office does not accept credit card payments over the phone. You must make payment in person or mail in a cashier's check or money order payable to the Bell County District Clerk.
