Pavement Upgrade - I35 - Temple/Belton

The Texas Department of Transportation (Waco District) will begin the milling process for a project to overlay a portion of Interstate 35 from S. Loop 363 in Temple to I-14/US 190 in Belton on Monday, May 20, 2019.

The project will begin with the setting of barricades and warning signs on Friday, May 17 and continue the following weeks with milling and the subsequent application of an asphalt overlay to approximately 5 miles of I-35 mainlanes an frontage roads between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.  Mondays through Wednesdays, Thursdays 9:00 p.m.  to 7:00 a.m., and Sundays 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.  Frontage road work will take place 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Texas Materials of Cedar Park is undertaking this project, at a cost of approximately $7M.  It is scheduled for completion by the end of August, weather permitting.

Motorists should expect flaggers and local police departments assisting with traffic control, temporary lane closures, and temporary delays within the work zones. TxDOT cautions motorists to be alert for construction personnel and equipment in the project area.
